Owner description: The Cathedral Church of St German was consecrated as a Cathedral relatively recently, though its shared history goes back a long way with the Cathedral ruin on St Patrick's Isle. Built as a Parish Church in 1893, St German's became the Cathedral Church for the Diocese of Sodor and Man in 1980. It is also one of 5 churches that form the Parish of the West Coast, serving the communities in Dalby, Kirk Michael, Patrick, Peel and St John's.

A pleasant, interesting and friendly cathedral to visit if in Peel. It is right in the town center so worth popping in for 15 minutes to have a quick look around.

“A Victorian Cathedral”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

Adjacent to the bus stop, it is worth a visit to admire the fine stain glass windows and the overall architect of this small cathedral. I know that Peel has many other attractions, but I consider that a visit to this cathedral to be worthwhile.

Beautiful cathedral. Again, history....and the spirit of Peel. Worth the stop. Doors open and welcoming for services.

“Beautiful Church”
Reviewed April 6, 2014

My Auntie has been coming to this Island for nearly 70 yrs and has never been, but this time round with the weather being so bad decided to call in for a visit. It was excellent, a beautiful Church and well worth a visit. It is being refurbished at the minute and we cannot wait to see the results. I believe it is now an Abbey, but has not always had this status.

“Small, friendly cathedral”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

You can't visit the Isle of Man's cathedral city and not at least call into the cathedral! At the moment a fine Victorian church with a friendly atmosphere but there are grand plans afoot for a choir school extension, gardens and a major refurb of the interior.
