myself Husband and friends travelled to Silvercraigs for 6 days holiday with Houghs coach travel. We were made to understand this was a hotel and were very disappointed to find it was
Only a B & B Guest house, Stuart was very nice and did try to put things right, He took on the task of providing evening meals, but it was obvious
he could not cope with this as the meals were not up to hotel standard, they could not even put a salad together, first salad all green with tomatoes and nothing else but they did bring some cheese, my second salad was 3 wafer thin packet ham no taste to it,
it was explained to Stuart that, coleslaw beetroot ,boiled eggs tuna or ham went with salads, so next night I received plate full of coleslaw beetroot boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, no green salad, and a sprinkle of tuna on top ,we are sure Stuart did his best , His cook should have known better, I think Stuart should just stay with his bed and breakfast, ,His breakfasts were very good I enjoyed them, but it would have been nice to have had a choice of fried or boiled eggs some mornings,, we paid Houghs coach travel good money for this holiday and did not get value for it, although the rooms were very small they were clean, towels were changed as and when needed, the staff were polite ,we did not like there memory foam mattress I seemed to sink into a hole, my own memory foam mattress doesn't do that, and the pillows were very soft, our room had no air condition. no fans, it was very humid and we could not even open a window, no smoke detectors in rooms, window looked out over filthy ally way, and not mobility friendly. would not stay there again,

Room Tip: choose a sea view, rooms are larger, you may have to pay extra for upgrade, you will have traffic noise

We stay here for 14 night for the iom TT, with me having lost my left leg (but use a prostectic ) I was not sure if it was right choose, but Stuart did more that he could to make our stay awesome, rooms are clean and tidy and if there is anything you need (just ask Stuart), breakfast is awesome and you could have as much or little as you would like.

I would seriously stay here again

My Husband and I have just visited Silvercraigs for the Southern 100 week 2013.Stuart and Diana made us most welcome. Stuart could not do enough to help us settle in etc even down to suggesting places to eat that afternoon.the premises matched exactly the description on the Isle of man site and his own adverts elsewhere. We were in room 17,right at the back of the building, the room was clean and tidy with an excellent en-suite with full sized shower included but no bath.linen and towels where excellent and clean and freshly pressed and bed had memory foam mattress which we found excellent.Breakfast was either continental or tradional british fried, cereals, tea, coffee, juices, toast, fruit, yogurt available also, the fried breakfast you could have as much or as little as you wanted served hot.Any little problem stuart wanted to know about so he could sort it out,the only minor problem we personally had was with wi-fi but stuart offered to move us to another room so we could connect. WE declined his kind offer and sat in the lounge to get our mail.
There is a third router to be fitted to the building soon to alievate this minor problem. On leaving early morning Satuaday Stuart organised sandwichs and yogurt to take with us as tea and coffee where already in the room..Stuat states on his adverts that furniture is not modern but what is provided is good solid useable furniture not cheap Ikea flat pack. we would highly recommend this hotel to anybody.there is also a lift to all floors..we would stay there again with out question.

Very welcoming hotel. The room was ideal for the 3 of us with comfortable beds, room temperature just right, great shower and a good standard of bathroom facilities.

Breakfast choice was perfect for us with plenty of fruit, cereal, cooked and cold options to pick as much or as little as desired.

It was also demonstrated on more than one occasion that the owners are keen to please and are actively looking at how to improve and expand their offerings without compromising their current high standards. Just right for us and highly recommended. Steve, Ian & Neal
