“Just what we needed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

We had a coffee and some cake here while waiting for the return ferry to Liverpool and it was amazing, the coffee was spot on and the carrot cake was almost like home made so a nice place to while away the time.

This place is right inside the terminal so no worries about queuing for the ferry while enjoying your coffee as you are just feet from the booking in windows.

Anyone can enjoy a coffee here as it is not just for the ferry terminal so if you are enjoying a walk on the seafront pop in for a coffee.

“Dreadful service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

This review refers to the Strand Street Costa. I visit the island every year, and always call for a coffee at Costa. The branches in my home city of Wakefield are brilliant, but the one I go to in Douglas (I might not bother in future) has deteriorated. I had to wait for what seemed like an eternity as the service was extremely slow. It was busy and the staff were clearly struggling. I ordered a vanilla latte, but couldn't taste any vanilla. When I went back to the unsmiling chap at the till he just said "stir it", in an offhand manner (as if I hadn't done that already). One of his female colleagues, who had slightly more idea about customer service, stepped in and added the vanilla which had clearly been forgotten. The whole experience was pretty dreadful, and I look forward to going to my local branches and getting proper service.

“Sea Terminal shop - Great location & hours, always busy but service is slow”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2013

There are 2 Costas in Douglas. one in Strand Street and this one at the Sea Terminal.
As this shop also serves customers waiting for the boat, or passengers from the boat it has longer opnening hours than most coffee shops which is great.
Parking is also very close by for those who want to pop in and get a takeaway coffee. Good place to go if you've got someone with limited mobility due to proximity to car park and no steps etc.
The shop is almost always busy and the seating area has been extended into the passenger departure lounge area. This means though that service is often slow, and can take ages at lunch times. There is a good atmosphere and tables are usually cleaned promptly.
