What a shame, be warned, this is only open at weekends...we actually didn't get to see inside, but would have loved to.

A long walk if you do not have your own transport, but well worth a visit if you can make it up the hill.

I have wanted to visit for many years but not normally on the island when its open - weekends and bank holidays. There is a very small admission fee. Finally went today and even though Manannan's cloak was over Douglas Bay there were still great views. Mr Quayle was so interesting to talk to about the history of the camera obscura and the local area. Another tick on the bucket list. I would definitely go again

Run by volunteers this Victorian attraction is open at weekends check on line before visiting. If you cross the swing bridge in Douglas and turn left towards the port you come to a set of steps which lead up to the camera obscura. The obscura is unique as it has 11 different views where most obscura only have one.

Fab Victoriana, try to go when there are boats in harbour as you see them moving and its fun! It will take you all of 10 minutes to walk round and there is parking nearby. Just a lovely quaint trip back to yesteryear
