Ride the full length of Douglas sea front on the HORSE DRAWN tram, known locally as - The Toast Rack. The horses are loved and well cared for and it's like going back in time being pulled along at a gentle pace amongst the modern traffic. Perfect on a warm summers day and very reasonably priced.

As part of the 4 day transit pass we purchased, THIS was a BONUS! Linking the steam train terminus to the electric train boarding was HORSE DRAWN tram! That's right, in 2013 IOM uses REAL horsepower to transport tourists ( and a few locals). One of the best experiences we enjoyed on our IOM hols was being pulled along by Robert the HORSE along the Douglas seafront. Magic!

It was a most enjoyable journey travelling on the Horse Tramway. Had a lovely ride along Douglas front, so easy going and stress free. Loved it.

take a leisurely ride along Douglas promenade taking in the sights as you go. it's particularly good in the evening when the lights are on in thee promenade. if you have children take them to the Home of Rest for old horse outside the town on Richmond hill.

Just a short journey along the promenade but well worth while. If you like horses they are all very friendly and appreciate being given a peppermint. Take time to alight at the terminus and catch a tram to explore further.
