We really enjoyed our stay in the Welbeck Hotel. Friendly staff and great service. We enjoyed the meals we ate in the restaurant. Again good value. The room was perfect for our needs.

I stayed at the Welbeck on business through the winter of 2010/11 and it was great. The Welbeck is spotless and very comfortable with a decent menu and good facilities although understandably Douglas is very quiet this time of year. Parking nearby was not a problem.

The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful.

Highly recommended.

Hi, stayed in the Welbeck with my 13yr old son for 9 nights at end of July. We really enjoyed our stay, every member of staff was courteous and friendly. Breakfast was excellent and nicely cooked with nice selection of cereals and juices. Room, neat and tidy and cleaned every day. We had a deluxe twin room
Which had a view down the street to the sea which was nice. The Tv was great but didn't get the stations as advertised, but the free Wifi made up for that as we were able to pull in our Sky Tv service over the net :-)
The bar was a nice but very quiet, even though I did mange to meet some nice friendly people to chat to and a very nice night porter :-)
We used the free passes to the pool and gym just the once but it is a great added free extra. A few things to be aware of, parking outside is free but on a big hill, small walk down the hill gets you to promenade and the horse trams/bus. Corridors are narrow and lift is quite small. Some mornings housekeeping were a bit early trying to clean the room, but the Do Not Distrub sign stoppe that. Finishing breakfast at 930 during the week is a bit early as people are on holidays, so maybe finish at 10/10:30.

Overall an excellent place to stay and I will be recommending it to friends and if i get the chance to return to Isle of Man the Welbeck will be my first choice to book

Room was spacious, bathroom absolutely spotless, free water in the mini fridge.

We ate in the restaurant on Saturday evening and received a 10% discount, making the meal very reasonable @ £22 for a three course meal. All the vegetables were freshly prepared and the red mullet mouth watering.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting good food at reasonable prices, drink in the bar was also reasonable for hotels @ £9 for four drinks. Wonderful family run hotel and staff more than willing to give assistance.

Only downside being, the hotel is on a hill so really no good for those with walking difficulties. Taxi's cheap enough to get where you want to go in the town though.

There is access to a gym and pool if wanted.

We stayed here for 4 nights on our anniversary week. We booked a Deluxue Suite and were upgraded to a one bedroom appartment. The rooms were very well furnished, spotless and cosy. The kitchen very well stocked with utensils and had tea and coffee and biscuits daily. The breakfasts were excellent and I got to love my manx Kippers every morning, whilst hubbie had full breakfasts. the hotel is only one row up from the front and we had sea views from the sitting room. You can catch the horse tram or bus along to the town which isn't too far to walk anyway. We had a problem getting hot water one morning, but it was fixed immediately and a note left to tell us. Hoteol is on hill and appartments are up stairs, there is a life but you have to climb stairs to get to it.

Room Tip: Appartments are very well equiped

Stayed in the 2 bedroom first floor apartment within the hotel which included breakfast in the price.Family consists of 2 adults and 2 kids.Apartment was a home from home very clean and comfy, immaculate in fact new carpets and decor throughout.
We stayed for 3 Night break and did all the tourist stuff ,staff were polite and helpful.
Hotel Bar nice and quiet for friendly drink.
We have stayed at lots of b&b,s over the years and although I cant really fault the hotel.
The only reason I have not given 5 out of 5 was the cooked breakfast. It was nice however i prefer food to be served on warm plate as I find keeps it hot longer when served.Maybe i,m fussy but good local organic butcher meat tastes better than the usual cafe type sausage
Other than that it was excellent and would definately stay again.
Guests also get use of nearby hotels gym and pool which is good addition.

Thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope that we see you again in the future.

Because of your comments, we will shortly switching to our butcher's own locally produced sausages.

I'm sorry that you received a cold plate at breakfast. It is probable that our breakfast chef (likely to have been me) thought that your meal was for one of the children as the plates are normally pulled straight out of the hot cupboard and our staff need cloths to hold them.
