Description: Portofino was opened at 18:15 on the 19th November 2010, as the Island's most prestigious Mediterranean and International restaurant. Dominating the Quay West development, centrally located in the Isle of Man's capital Douglas, Portofino enjoys spectacular views overlooking the marina, with activity of the street outside, visible through floor to ceiling windows. The grill, fish, poultry, meat and vegetables are prepared in full view of diners at the surrounding kitchen. During summer, outside tables are available for dinning. Portafino's interior was designed by Sicilian owner Mario Ciapelli. Its interior is complemented by high-back leather chairs, a modern cocktail serving bar and contemporary lighting throughout to provide a luxury and modern yet comfortable enviroment for diners. The restaurant also provides diners with the option to book the Xander Suite, a private dining room which can accommodate up to 30 guests.

What more can I say? Except that the staff are also lovely and the service can't be improved. Our favourite place to dine on the Isle of Man.

We decided to treat ourselves to a new dining experience. We are tired of some of our usual haunts. The decor is lovely fresh and modern. The service was excellent the waiting staff very attentive. The owner took time to come and speak with us a few times. The house red was excellent. Starters we had Carpaccio of beef and Foi Gras, Mains filet of beef and I had the sword fish. Every thing was well cooked. Simple and tasty. We had sweets : creme brulee, and apple tarte tatin. We had one bottle of wine and one extra glass of wine, sparkling water bill was just over £100 for two.

A very nice meal in pleasant surroundings with good quality fish
worth a try. It has an open cooking area so you can see your meal being cooked. And the staff are pleasant and friendly
