I have eaten here a few times, with friends and family. It's open at lunchtime on Fridays and weekends, and in the summer, a table by the window overlooking the Villa Marina gardens is very pleasant. It's also open every evening.

On none of the occasions I have been was it thronged with diners, and the service was friendly and swift.

The food we were served wasn't particularly memorable. I had a nice enough Caesar Salad last time I was there, but the quality of my companions' meals was variable - a mushroom based vegetarian dish was dry and unexciting.

I would recommend it if you go as a family group, as it seemed quite child friendly, or if you fancy an informal, pleasant place to eat. Probably not a place to go if you want to impress someone or eat a special, memorable meal.

I tend to avoid Italian thinking you can cook it yourself at home but this is a treat. Nicely positioned and wonderfully cooked fresh produce. A real treat to have gluten free past option too - thank you!

I was a little doubtful at first being a cafe restaurant, but how wrong I was, the food was top class, service with a smile and the ice cream to die for!

Went with a little trepidation as we normally go to Alessandros but had decided to try the Italian Job for an 18th birthday celebration with close family. Despite some of the poor reviews we found it to be a pleasant night out. The restaurant is set out with plenty of room between tables giving a nice roomy feel to the restaurant and a relaxed dining experience, not having to worry about banging elbows with the person sat next to you or making way for people to get past on their way in or out etc.

The food was really good and filling and the service could be improved but it was nothing a quiet polite word wouldn't fix. 2 people couldn't finish their pizzas so took them home in boxes.

For:- Relaxed atmsophere, good food, nice surroundiings, light and airy. space
Against:- have to use public toilets in colonnade,
