Great food and service allround. Even changed the channel on one of the TVs so we could watch Rugby League!

I had beef stroganoff it was excellent , it's a very busy restaurant , seating very close together but enough room to move about . My only crib is that it never catered for disabled people . If you are a wheelchair user you would not get in this restaurant as the restaurant is upstairs , pity really as disabled people would enjoy the experience

This was recommended to us on our arrival in Douglas by the taxi driver from the airport. Nice decor, busy lively atmosphere - SHAME there is no lift though - restaurant on 1st floor - steep narrow staircase difficult to negotiate for people with mobility issues! Quite noisy but to expected as very busy.Meals well.presented , I chose the lamb cutlets which were cooked to perfection on a bed of champ (loads!!!) With cauliflower, carrots and herbes fines. , and a lovely mint gravy. Hubby had fish & chips - nice piece of cod but a bit on small side chips average. . Our waitress was helpful and attentive , not intrusive. DAUGHTER HAD BURGER AND CHIPS but found her meal slightly greasy - disappointing. Grandson had double cheeseburger was huge, nice selection of freshly salad accompanied his meal. Altogether, a reasonable meal but nothing out of the ordinary

During a recent visit to the Isle of Man, I met up with a few friends at Jaks Bar and Steak house who had heard the food was good.

Whilst the menu was straight forward and basic I decided to have a burger (not something that I order very often when out) but as I was informed the owner also owned the local butchers so I at least I felt that it would be a good quality burger.
Alas it can only be described as a rubber version associated with poor quality cheap cater packs from the 1970`s! the type also associated with late night burger vans outside the nightclubs or outside football stadiums on a Saturday afternoon where the smell alone is enough to put you off.

There are some fantastic street food operations happening in and around the UK offering some good quality produce, alas this restaurant needs to research what is happening on the fast food scene and realise we have moved on and that customers require and expect a higher standard of food quality in such establishments!.

The bun was dry and old (and no effort to even brown/toast the bread on the cut side to help improve its eating quality). Just a thin distorted rubber meat Patti stuck between two slices of old bread!
On a positive note the chips were good.
The plate containing two compartments were also impractical to eat from.
