Stayed a couple of nights last week on a business trip and must say that I was made to feel very welcome and it was just like being at home. The hotel is near the business district and very handy for the ferry terminal.

Stayed: October 2012, traveled on business

The hotel is very well sited on the sea front. The hotelliers are welcoming and obliginig. The room was delightful with superb views over the sea - the sun rises were spectacular.
Breakfast is a splendid affair - vegetarians are extremely well catered for which cannot be said for many of the hotels in Douglas. The foods was plentiful, varied and well presented.
The downsides: Very steep stairs for a mature couple and really quite noisy at night.

Room Tip: For views and early morning bird calls - choose a sea view, but beware these are very noisy at night.

An amazing holiday at the Ellan Vannin. Paul and Pauline really do know how to make their
guests happy - nothing is too much trouble. Superb room, fantastic cuisine, spotlessly clean, lovely staff. We have just returned and have already booked to go back again in May next year. Thank you for a truly fabulous time and one where we have had so much fun together as well as with their lovely team of staff. We have been to the Isle of Main a few times before, but can totally recommend their lovely evening meals too, which are not really advertised. Even non residents can enjoy their superb food, just let them know in the morning before. Sheer delight.

Room Tip: Have a chat to Paul and Pauline and let them know what is important to you, they will advise you best.

very friendly staff nothing to much trouble. upgraded to a double with a sea view was worth the extra money sitting in bed looking across the bay. bed very good . very good breakfast plenty of choice and freshly cooked to order. evening meal available if required and good value. ( all local produce breakfasts/evening meals). Sky tv in lounge with sports and movie channels. if required early breakfast no problem.only few mins walk to bus station and sea terminal

Room Tip: worth paying the extra for a sea room

Changed hands a few months ago.
The new owners are very friendly, approachable and helpful.
Breakfasts are very good and though we did not eat in the other guests we spoke to said it was very good.
Good location on the Promenade and when they say 5 minutes from the ferry terminal they are accurate.
