We enjoyed staying at the Edelweiss Hotel. A good choice of food was presented at breakfast, with the hot choices always hot. The hotel we thought was situated in a nice position on the promenade as the trams and bus stops were within approx 100yds. We had a sea view, right at the top, a great position affording good views of the sea cat and ferries coming and going. The only fault we had of the room was there was no shower, just the bath. The room and bathroom was kept very clean and tidy during our stay.
We have never seen such a small lift, but it did cause much amusement to those watching in the lounge as two people trying to get in together! Still it was much better than climbing the stairs to our room.
Overall we think it was good value, thank you all very much. Mick & Gill Flack.

Room Tip: Take the sea view room at the top of the hotel, good views, quiet.

Lovely hotel, well positioned at the far end of the promenade, so suggest the horse tram or bus from the ferry terminal. Made to feel very welcome by Shirley and Alex.
Room on the top floor, but there is a small lift thankfully. Rooms very clean and comfortable, with adequate tea and coffee. Breakfast fabulous...spoilt for choice. A very comfortable lounge to relax in if required.
If I were to return to the island, would not hesitate to stay there again, and would definitely recommend this place to stay, if ones requirements, were small and friendly and good value for money

Stayed at the Edelweiss on Switzerland Rd for 4 nights in the rainy month of June 2012.
Like previous reviews, there is really little to complain about. Room was basic, with small TV, with tea/coffee making facilities. Clean room and comfy enough beds (twin). Breakfast was good with a variety of cereals / yoghurt and hot foods available. Both Alex and Shirley are good host,s and were very helpful .
The lift is a great talking point on Trip Advisor, and has to be experienced to be believed - never have seen such a dwarf designed feature before. Not for the claustrophobic !!
All in all, very happy with our stay, but probably not return - no fault of hotel or island - just a case of been there, done that, and move on.

Anythign that they didnt have you only need to ask for and Shirley the Manger would do whatever she coudl to accomidate you.

The breakfast was a help yourself buffet which was always fully stocked and tasty.

overall a good stay and would definatly come back here.

Room Tip: You will need to ask for a sea view , if this is what you desire

Shirley and her staff were excellent during our recent stay with them. The room was clean and the breakfast was to die for.... Lots of all the good stuff you only eat when you go on holidays. I'd really like to say we'll be back next year, but it's a long way to the Isle of Man from Australia. J.

An amazing week at the most charming, friendly and accomodating place I have stayed in for a very long time.
We turned up to drop off our luggage at 6.30am !! and we were still given such a warm welcome and even breakfast !!!
Our room was big, clean and very comfortable, great choice for breakfast that was enough to set us up for the whole day.
Staff are friendly and extremely helpful and we all felt like we were at home.
Great location for the prom, trams, shops - What could be better ? Nothing !
Thank you Shirley and Alex, we will certainly be back.

it was our pleasure to have you staying with us - Two fantastic families!
We always try and put ourselves in our guests shoes ... you all arrived exhausted very early in the morning so we thought the very least we could do is provide you with a good breakfast and make you as comfortable as possible until your rooms were ready.
We hope to see you back again soon.

Kindest Regards
Shirley
