We stayed for 3 nights and agree with previous comments about the hotel being overpriced. We had booked a deluxe room which although mainly clean & tidy was certainly not deluxe and not much resemblance to the hotel photos. The room was small and plain, one door of the wardrobe was unusable due to the door spring holding it shut, one of the curtains was hanging off its hook and the chair was stained. The hall & stair carpets were FILTHY particularly the one leading to the dining room. Breakfast choice average -only toast & cereal or cooked english available - no extras. Average staff, no uniform - mini skirts/jeans/pumps/vests -anything goes. Minimum input from reception staff, we were left to find our own way to our room and to the dining room & bar. Bar closed by 9.00, no lounge. Arrived back on Sunday afternoon & asked for pot of tea only to be told there was no-one on duty so not possible - the place was deserted. Oh to be at the Royal opposite where dozens of people were enjoying afternoon tea on the terrace!!As previous comments parking is a nightmare - trek up & down the road twice a day. View from room good but this is not enough to make up for the other shortcomings. Generally, standard not acceptable for the prices they are charging and def needs TLC.
