We (grandmother, parents and boys aged 7 and 5) have just returned from a lovely stay in Chestnut Mews. We chose Honeysuckle Cottage as having access to the shared garden, our children loved playing with the kids next door. It was easy to book and pay via email / bank transfer.
The cottage is in a wonderful location, 10ins max walk via steps to the quiet end of Shanklin beach, 5 mins to old village and 10 minutes to new part. Several supermarkets in Shanklin, could walk to co-op or drive to large Morrisons. Easy to walk to the village for dinner and perhaps visit the chine when it's lit up for the evening, a magical experience only 5 minutes saunter from the doorstep.
The cottage is really well equipped with all you could need, such as coffee machine, slow cooker, barbeque, cot, high chair, potty and even lego. It was great to put a roast in the slow cooker and spend the day at Osborne House etc. to return to a cooked dinner.
Everything is very clean, the kitchen and bathroom are recently renovated and there is plenty of hot water. There is a washing machine and dishwasher to take the stress out of your day. There are 3 toilets, we found this a big plus compared to many other cottages on the island which may have looked quainter but did not offer the same facilities or location.
The communication prior to, during and after our stay was irreproachable. We will be returning and would not hesitate to recommend to others. Thanks to Peter and Mandy for a lovely stay.
We have been coming to the cottages now for 5yrs and over the years stayed in all 3 cottages. We have a fantastic holiday every year and the cottages are stunning, they are clean, homely and have everything you need for your stay and more.
You feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. In a great location so can walk to everywhere you need to in Shanklin, 5 minute walk to the Old Village and Chine.
Just perfect, another fantastic holiday and can't wait till next year.
Our Stay at Clematis Cottage was prefect. The house has its own garden with lots outside toys and even its own playhouse. The house itself is very well equipped and has all things covered and the welcome pack and bottle of Bubbly was a lovely touch. The rooms are all very comfy and the kids even slept pass 6.30 which is a bonus on holiday.
The location is lovely too up a quiet private road but only 5-10 min walk in to the main high street with lots of little shops, cafes and Pubs. The Chine is only 10mins down the road, which is lovely if you go in the evening as its all lit up. Also along the road is the steps to the beach ( can be hard work with little ones as there is a lots to go down)
The location was fantastic to get to all the major Attractions on the island and is great base. We are hoping to return
This is the third time I have stayed at these properties with my family. They are of an excellent standard. They are clean, beautifully located and of a very high standard. I have no problems in highly recommending them.
Our extended family (3 year-old, parents and grandparents) stayed in Honeysuckle Cottage. We found it comfortable, really well equipped and perfectly located for both the beach at Shanklin and the village. The large shared garden with loads of play equipment was a real hit.
On the days when the sun shone, the sandy beach was perfect for small children and it was an easy stroll to get there past Shanklin Chine. Particular hits for us included the pretty Steephill Cove close to Ventnor, the IOW Steam Railway and the model village at Godshill. All easily accessible from our base.
We would definitely recommend this property and would love to return.
This was our first visit to the Isle of Wight with our nearly 3 year-old daughter. We couldn't have asked for a better base from which to explore the island. The house is large, clean and has excellent facilities for the whole family. The garden was a real surprise and has numerous wendy houses, climbing frames and toys etc to keep the children entertained. The location is ideal as only a short drive from most of the attractions and only a 5 minute walk into Shanklin Old Village from where you can access the beach via Shanklin Chine. We would definitely stay here again if and when we next visit the Isle of Wight.
Peaceful setting near to beach and the house had everything one could hope for., even a dishwasher. The slow cooker was huge and I was sorry to come back to my own home which paled in comparison.
The gardener came whilst we were there and his plantings were perfect.
The fresh flowers on the table and the Champagne chilling in the fridge blew me away.
