A truly lovely well equipped apartment with a great balcony and views over Shanklin to Sandown. The location is great; really private but easy walking into Shanklin centre or slightly trickier down the coast path to the beach. The wine on arrival was a nice touch as was the cupboards being equipped with all the necessities that one usually forgets to bring.
The owner, Martin is really helpful. Along with the mild climate our stay could not have been more enjoyable. We just need a little more time to explore the island next time. We could not recommend it more highly

It was a fantastic apartment,only one fault,no loo rolls provided.we have been told it was the cleaners fault.

The cleaner did not leave the usual 2 toilet rolls in the apartment and for this unfortunate oversight I have sincerely apologised. The apartment information that is provided to our guests about 2 weeks prior to arrival does request that any problems encountered are reported to the owner as soon as possible. If this would have happened in this case then I would have been able to rectify the problem, probably within 20 minutes. We are pleased that other than this omission our guests did enjoy our apartment, the location and views.

This fantastic comfortable well equipped luxury apartment lives up to all the positive good reviews that attracted us to book for two weeks in June/July this year for the first time We were delighted with What we found when we arrived and felt that it met and exceeded all our expectations in every way From the spacious layout of the well decorated apartment the very fully equipped kitchen area and the new bathroom and very comfortable lounge with patio doors opening on to the amazing large balcony with a terrific panoramic sea view of Shanklin and Sandown Bay Martin the owner made sure that we had all the details with regards to the booking and arrival instructions and I emailed him on our arrival home to say how much we had enjoyed our stay at his delightful home from home apartment we shall be definitely booking again and we thoroughly recommend staying to anyone who wants first class accommodation and within walking distance to Shanklin Village with its restaurants tea rooms and shops etc

We visited in mid July,our second visit here,and it was even better than before.There is now a king sized bed and a newly modernised bathroom The owners have thought of everything,from little touches like a bottle of wine left for us to enjoy,to loads of leaflets and suggestions of where to eat,shop,visit etc.
They also ensured that there was some tea ,coffee and sugar and a few other odds and ends in the cupboard.

The free internet is a lovely touch,we were out most days,so didn't use it then,but had no trouble getting online every evening.

We loved having breakfast on the very large balcony and watching ships of all sizes going past.
The owner was very good with his prompt correspondance and advice in the lead up to our visit,advising us where the big supermarkets are (it's all changed since the last time we were here).

And if the weather is so bad that you choose to stay in the flat,there are loads of Dvd's,books and even jigsaws.

We will definitely return soon.

We did not find that 5 The Priory delivered the same experience as previous reviewers for a number of reasons - and so were disappointed. I wondered why there were no reviews posted since June.

Quiet - no - noise from the flat above was awful, scrapping around of furniture and every footstep audible, this could be as late as 11pm and start at 6:30am. Whilst this maybe just a particular family, we would have expected better sound insulation from when the building conversion was carried out. Currently the adjacent flat to that is playing music very loudly - it is 8:20 am, when others are sitting out trying to enjoy a peaceful breakfast in the sunshine.

WiFi /Internet...frequent problems with slow or nil response, on investigation we found three devices attached to the router which did not belong to us and were obviously using up all the bandwidth, this went on all week - presumably an adjacent flat has the Wifi password?

The flat had not been cleaned prior to arrival, and although the owner quickly arranged for the company to visit, and they did do a quick clean round....it is obvious on closer looking that the place has not had a proper clean in months.
I had not envisaged having to clean out the filter of the dishwasher before I could use it, and I had to straight away, as previous renters had left all 5 mugs with tea/coffee stains in, and plates with food debris on in the cupboards. How can you not wash up properly when there is an instant supply of very hot water and a dishwasher?
On the day following arrival, our first trip was to Dunelm, to buy pillows, as the four provided were flattened polyester lumps offering no support. Only 3 of these had pillow protectors on, and the state of the other pillow protectors ...yuk.
The oven, grill pan, hob and extractor fan need specialist cleaning.
The owner is not local, and the Cleaning Company are sadly not doing the job he employs them to do. The lady that came made excuses that they were very busy because it is peak holiday - indeed that's when you need even closer attention to detail and more cleaning because of the higher turnover of occupants. It isn't the fault of the owner that we had such a bad experience, and he did message to let him know of problems, but having had our settling in delayed, I just wanted to get on with the holiday, and not have people coming back in to clean - especially the very person who should be checking the quality of the service, because that is demonstrably not being done; and the state is beyond it being done when there are people here with their belongings. I just did my best with hot soapy water and a packet of anti-bacterial wipes, then poured a large glass of wine.

There isn't a shaver socket in the bathroom, so if you use an electric toothbrush or rechargeable shaver, remember to bring an adapter.

If you are up early and it is quiet you maybe lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a red squirrel running across the decking. There are also bats around at dusk.

We started renting our property in 2007 and this is the first negative review we have received in the ten years and naturally we are extremely disappointed. When we were notified about the cleaning we immediately contacted the cleaning company owner who was onsite within 15 minutes. We understand that the issue was rectified to the guest’s satisfaction and that the company owner also left her telephone number with the guest in case there were any other problems. I followed this up with a telephone call and left a message apologising once again and for the guest to make contact if there were any other issues. No further calls were received from the guest. On investigation we can confirm the apartment was cleaned prior to arrival. We have had no reviews since June for the simple reason that the majority of our guests were either regulars or friends. In fact 4 of our regulars in this period have already booked again for 2018 and these guests certainly would not have rebooked had there been any problems with the cleaning. We also stayed at the property in mid-July ourselves and the property was cleaned as usual to a very high standard. We will of course be investigating all of the issues raised but we cannot control the actions of the inhabitants of other apartments. However had we known about them whilst the guest was in residence we would have done our utmost to resolve them by contacting other owners. The guest experience is our top priority and we do all we can to make sure the guest is happy.
