Perfect Getaway!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 10, 2019via mobile
Haven Hall is a picturesque, immaculate boutique hotel right on the coastline. Getting to the Isle was fast and easy via London's Waterloo Station, Wightlink Ferry and the island's quaint railway. David picked us up at the Shanklin station, which is just a short distance from the hotel. The hotel and grounds are picture-perfect (and we took many photos!)

We were upgraded to the Seagulls suite, with a beautiful ocean view and kitchen. Each room is uniquely decorated and fully outfitted with amenities. David gave us several taxi options, and advice to book ahead (both taxi and restaurants) due to high demand during the holiday season. We highly recommend 'A' Taxi service, and Smoking Lobster and Thompson's restaurants.

A generous full English breakfast buffet is served each morning and tables are in a bright dining room overlooking the water. Don't miss the homemade rhubarb compote. The hotel is situated on the coastal trail, with an easy walk to the beach and longer walk to Old Shanklin.

David and Arielle were always available and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. A wonderful getaway.

We stayed at Haven Hall for two nights and took along our two, four month old puppies.. We'd booked the Gardenia suite which had its own small private garden which proved invaluable. The hotel is right on the coastal path which made it perfect for walking the puppies who absolutely loved the dog friendly beaches and were surprisingly well behaved in the many dog friendly restaurants and bars. Breakfast was included and was delicious, with something for everyone. Would thoroughly recommend, especially if taking your pooch.

Room tip: Gardenia Suite has its own private garden, perfect for dogs.

This home from home owner run boutique hotel sets a new standard of excellence in every respect. David and Arielle have created a haven of tranquillity, comfort and views of the highest standards that we've experienced in our many years of 5* travels around the world and all on our doorstep across The Solent. To be able to enjoy the IOW from such a welcoming base has to be on any discerning travellers list. Our Sea View room had everything including kitchenette, aircon, ample furniture and space. The breakfast on each of our three mornings was superb and overseen by David whilst Arielle's domain was the kitchen. With magnificent grounds overlooking the Channel, tennis court and pool this is more than a 5* experience simply because the owners take care personally and in a most friendly yet in a non-intrusive style.

We just spent 3 nights at Haven Hall and could easily have stayed longer. David and Arielle gave such a warm personal welcome and couldn’t do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. The place is wonderful and secluded. Haven Hall has been entirely refurbished throughout to the highest standard. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. There is plenty to do on the island and made for a perfect mini break.

It’s hard to know exactly where to start. The cliff top location of this recently completed establishment offers stunning views across the Sandown/Shanklin Bay from most guest rooms. The spectacular gardens, along with the rest of the property are a true labour of love for David & Arielle, the attendant owners. No detail has been missed, right down to the excellent home made lemon curd & even 3 Tesla chargers. First class!

My wife, grand dog and I have just spent a most enjoyable few days at this excellent dog friendly hotel with beautiful gardens, very attentive hosts, David and Arielle and excellent breakfasts.
The accommodation was home from home and we would thoroughly recommend Haven Hall Hotel and should we be back to the I of Wight we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. Thank you David and Arielle
