My wife and I have just returned from an Easter Break at the Channel View.
Where to start, the welcome was warm and friendly and shown to our room. The room was spacious, well decorated and clean.
The food was brilliant, well cooked and well presented. The dining room staff could not do enough to make sure every thing was to our satisfaction. For Sunday dinner, we were served IoW beef, not just two slices but five melt in the mouth slices.
The pool, although small, was well maintained and most of all clean.
There was not a downside to this hotel, apart from having to leave.

We booked in on passing for two nights, the hotel is very clean and tidy, tho as the title it was very quiet we stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night in mid march so only to be expected!!!
The room was clean and tidy and had everything you would need, the only thing was the heating in the en suite this only had a heated towel rail which gave out no heating to the room at all hense freezing when having Bath or shower
Meals were ok but nothing to write home about!!!

A return visit for a dance weekend and would recommend this hotel. Our room was tastefully furnished and afforded a distant sea view. Some of our party lwere lucky enough to have wonderful sea views. The dining room staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful so the dining experience was most enjoyable.

Room Tip: Although our room was very comfortable we were close to the kitchen and the noise from bins etc bein...

Great New Years Eve party, lovely food, good time and to top off the night to go to bed in a warm, clean, cosy room. A full english breakfast in the morning looking out to sea! Perfect start to 2013. Thanks to the friendly staff as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a full sea view. Can' beat it.

Not a very good night's sleep at all. The beds seriously need an upgrade - both the mattress but most of all the bedding. £84/night to sleep under an old blanket is ridiculously expensive. Fortunately there is actually a Channel View!

We are sorry to hear you did not have a good night’s sleep whilst you were staying at Channel View. Beds are very subjective and we do need feedback in order for us to change those that are uncomfortable, so thank you for letting us know. With regard to quilts, we are considering them for next summer.

You mention that you paid £84.00 per night, this is a bit of a mystery to us as our top tariff for dinner, bed and breakfast is £76.00 at the height of the season. Could it have been a low season price which included the car ferry crossing to the island?

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the view from your room so thankfully all was not lost.

Just returned from 5 day T & T at The Channel View Hotel in Shanklin. The hotel is worth every penny, from start to finish. Food excellent and plenty of it. Decor and comfort is second to none. We will be back next November.

I know none of us can help the weather and I've been to the isle of wight before so I know that on a sunny day it is glorious, but not when the sky comes down and meets the sea and there is a grey fret and plenty of rain.
However, this hotel more than made up for that. Cosy warm and welcoming. Food superb lovely staff. Everyone was great, from the lads collecting our cases to Mrs Gino the manageress. I've travelled a lot and this is probably the best of the best. My mother is partially sighted and provisions were made for her our room was spacious and right next to the lift.
Would definitely go again but not so late in the year.
