Hard to get a seat as a tiny bar, but if you can manage to get a seat at the bar the staff are lovely

“Step Back In Time”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

Hard to imagine seeing both transport and folk sides in one day. On the folk side you can sit by a turf fire in a hundred year old cottage and melt away This is a must see for those who want to experience the past without too much touristy hype.

“Fantastic day out for all the family!”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

Visited Folk Museum for the first time in a few years with my dad and my 1yo son. We had a fantastic day out, and had our legs been able to take it could definitely have stayed from dawn to dusk. Each house is fantastic in itself, and the staff are so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The cafe served tasty food in lovely surroundings, and there were plenty of toilet/baby change facilities dotted about.
We will definitely come back again this summer, and can't wait to try the Transport Museum part to see if it is as good.

“Day out with grandchildren”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

On a family day out we decided to visit the Folk and Transport Museum and all enjoyed the day out. There is plenty to keep the young and energetic members of the family and other members will enjoy the trip down memory lane. All enjoyed the experience and look forward to a return visit. Only gripe was walk from car park and between exhibition halls , on our visit it was not pleasant as it was raining .
