“Somewhat pricey?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2012

Just stayed for 2 nights at short notice this week (September). Why are prices per person and not per room? 124 for each night which seemed rather high for the thinnest of towels in the good sized bathroom (though the amazing soap/shower gel/shampoo/conditioner/how many other functions?? gadget was empty). Someone had left the upper window open with no means of accessing it to close so woke up a few times in the night freezing! I´m agile but couldn´t reach it from the window ledge. Clean though smelly pillows after a hard summer probably and sad decor with huge water stains here and there inexplicably. Brekky served to you rather than buffet which was good and quite yummy. Fab views from the dining room over the sea. Free and ample parking. Still don´t feel it merited a whacking 248 pounds for a 2 night stay mid September though .........

Room Tip: Check you can access any windows left open!

I know this is late but we married seven years ago now at the Redcliffe and feel I must post a review because I cannot praise it higher. The food was out of this world. The service amazing and the venue, which overlooks the sea, was quite special and considerably cheaper than many other alternatives. OK its a little old fashioned but I'm very glad we chose the Redcliffe and if you choose it too, I am sure you wont be disappointed.

We had such a good holiday last year that we stayed again and extended to eight nights.
I am somewhat bemused by any poor reviews as the staff here and the quality of service are
so very good. Many of the staff have been here for years and it is rather nice to be greeted by
so many good friends when we arrive, especially Trevor who looked after us in the restaurant.
We are long retired but in our working lives we have had the benefit of travelling all over the
world the Husband on Government business and myself as a buyer for a major company so we
are well acquainted with hotels that offer service and old fashioned courtesy. The majority of the
other guests appear to be like minded though of course there are always those who are very
demanding. This hotel has excellent standards in everything it does from the total cleanliness
and comfort of the rooms to the rather good dinners with lots of choice and a different menu every evening. We stayed at the end of June to the start of July and even the weather was good.
Whilst there a wedding took place in the ballroom and I was singularly impressed by the lengths
the staff went to to make it a very special day for the Bride & Groom. When I read the poor reviews I am always struck by the intemporate language and feel that there are just people out
there that you would never please. We were very pleased in every respect and would like to
congratulate the owners & staff on a quality offering though I must admit to not liking the new
piano as much as the pianists the hotel usually has. 10/10
Final thought would so many of us go back so very often if this hotel was lacking in any way?

Room Tip: If you book very early you get the sea view rooms at no extra cost!

Emailed this hotel asking if people were welcome to call in for morning coffee. No answer was given to my question but somebody emailed back, "Thank you for your enquiry." I must therefore presume that people are not welcome to call in for morning coffee.

A disappointing attitude.

We have visited this hotel for many years, like many others. Some families have been going back annually for many years, which tells you so much about the hotel. The Hotel is situated on the sea front with views across the bay, which are beautiful. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms allow you to see the stunning Bay views.

My new husband and I have just had our wedding at the Redcliffe and we could not be happier with our day - every single step of the way we have been shown courtesy and helpfulness, my partner is recovering from cancer and had some very specific needs all of which were catered to with no fuss whatsoever. My daughters and myself stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding and had two lovely rooms, the honeymoon suite on the night of the wedding was superb. I cannot emphasise too much how delighted we were with everything - the food was superbl both during the day and the bbq in the evening - service could not be faulted - special mention must go to Sandra who is quite simply fantastic and Kirk who was on-hand with a calming professional manner all day - thank you to all concerned - my husband and I (that sounds good!) are so very very grateful to you all.

Room Tip: Just go !!

I have stayed here twice in the last year, anf have been extremely pleased with all aspects of the hotel, from a warm friendly welcome at reception, and offers of portering your bags to your room. Rooms mostly have been redecorated and bathrooms updated or replaced in recent times and are very clean and contain all the facilities needed, T/V, hairdryer, good lighting, comfortable beds. The building is historic and usde to be called The Redcliffe Towers and communal rooms are some strange shapes but are most impressive. 2 swimming pools and a leisure club, Large Ballroom used for weddings and many dances throughout the year. The dining room is superb as is the food, service is excellent and staff are exceedingly friendly, most guests that you meet are regular returners. I cannot reccomend this hotel too highly.

Room Tip: Sea Views are stunning
