Me and my daughter spent 3 nights here with GB tours. After reading other reviews was not sure what to expect. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised! The staff were always friendly and helpful, the food was of a good standard with plenty of choice and good service. Our room (Room 20) was clean, bed comfy only negative being the bathroom which needs updating. Free wifi was the icing on the cake for my 19 year old daughter. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as so close to paignton.

We stayed at the Torbay Court for three nights starting on Friday 09 September check in was efficient, the room was clean but a little dated.the hotel position is only a short walk to town and the sea front.
dinner that evening was not worth the long wait we experienced between courses, the full English breakfast consisted of one skinny sausage one piece of paper thin tasteless bacon an egg half a tomato and watered down beans( all of which would have fitted on a side plate).
dinner the next night was even worse having to wait 30 minutes for the first course and twenty mins for the main which was vegetable curry that tasted terrible I left this and went out for something to eat on the third night we didn't bother with dinner and ate out again.my complaints were ignored.

Has a great time the staff were good breakfast was good also very close to Paignton seafront even had a lift, tip for those who drive by cars to the hotel not much in the way of parking as the coaches take up the space!

Room Tip: get a room with a bay window :)

My sister and I came with GB Tours this last week. Firstly, our driver was absolutely first class sadly, the Torbay Court Hotel is very far from that. Restaurant staff were hard working and very pleasant. Well what can I say next ? I'll just roll off our opinion : Room refurbished to average standard but with bare wires awaiting wall lights. En suite needed to be cleaned more thoroughly as pull cord for light/fan was filthy. Dirty behind bath taps. Shower extremely temperamental from scalding to freezing in seconds. Toilet cistern did not always refill therefore no flush until it decided to do so. Communal stairs on second floor thick with dust.Banister rickety. The food? Adequate I suppose but not inspirational. The last meal was inedible if you chose the pork loin cooked in cider with hard lumps of apple, mashed swede with dry crumbly bits in, braised tasteless red cabbage and the new potatoes sort of roasted swimming in cheap vegetable oil and tasting of it! Most of it went back to the kitchen. Oh well, I don't really want to recall this part of the holiday, but just one point about the management - if you want to appear professional maybe dress in management attire and have a brighter attitude, instead of inappropriate casual clothing. We have every sympathy for our driver who, after careful consideration of health and safety decided not to attempt to park outside the front door of the hotel which is a cul-de-sac and the manoevre was quite impossible anyway.I believe all our coach passengers were totally in agreement with this. To sum up, we think this hotel should close and get it's act into gear with the refurbishment and take a long hard look at the menu and it's preparation, cooking and presentation. We would not dream of coming back.

Room Tip: Room 57 is very small and overlooks unkempt waste ground. Slight sea view over mish-mash of roof top...

Had a nice stay at this hotel from 23rd _25th August 2013, the staff helpful, would have been more helpful if we did'nt have to find out who blocked us in on the so called car park,it is'nt a matter of being in a hurry to get your car out of a rubble car park, it was the fact some person had blocked us in.The hotel itself is clean,a bit dated, and a bit overpriced for what is was, after reading the bad reveiws we just thought we would give this the benefit of the doubt, would'nt stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: one that suppiies ear muffs

We had a very nice stay at the Torbay Court Hotel on 24th/25th August 2013. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Its location is good being just off the seafront at Paignton.
The room was clean and tea and coffee making facilities were provided. There was a modern flat screen TV and a hair-dryer.
The shower was a little tricky to get a constant flow of ideal temperature water.
we had a good nights sleep, with one small thing the people in the next room did have their TV volume turned up rather loud and was a little annoying.
Breakfast was well cooked and the staff were efficient.
The parking is the issue with this hotel. No where on the website did it say parking was limited. when we got here we had what we thought was the last parking space only to be blocked in by two transit vans. This wasn't really a problem as they were gone before we wanted to. But another couple had to jot down the numbers of two cars and find the owners before they could leave. I imagine this could be very frustrating if they were in a hurry. Could the hotel not take registration numbers when guests book in and then be able to contact the rooms / guests for a quicker service

We booked into the Torbay court last minute as our previous booking would not allow under 14,s when needing an extra room added on for our party of 10,
On reading trip advisor after booking we were very anxious as to what we had let ourselves in for BUT we were pleasantly surprised the hotel is still under refurbishment but they still have a long way to go our room was clean comfy bed all amenities the en suite however was dated and shabby the shower was as bout as useful as a chocolate teapot shower head was so small it took ages to have a good wash under it breakfast was nice 1 bacon 1 tomato 1 sausage beans and an egg 1 piece of fried bread self service cereals toast and juice for £60 per couple per night I would of expected somewhat bigger portion size breakfast/dining room nicely decorated bar was also nice but needed finishing touches overall it was an enjoyable stay and would come again some staff were excellent some however needed a personality transplant :)
