This place is great value for money. The host Louise, and her team, were lovely. It is a small team so they must work hard to provide the sort of service that they do. I was able to check in early, having emailed ahead. I had a small double, as per advertised, and it was fine size-wise for one person. Lovely view overlooking the bay and the little huts below. Room lovingly prepared, with little chocolates and toiletries sitting on the towels on the bed which I found a lovely, welcoming touch. Room had plenty of storage and lots of refreshments and biscuits. Breakfast was delicious next morning, with veggies catered for. The decor is very traditional English seaside. Having recently stayed at The Grand in Torquay for double the money and half the satisfcation, where the rooms are in terrible state, I was very pleased with my choice on this visit.
Negatives...? It's not right in the centre of the town, it's in Preston, between Paignton and Torquay. It's on a good and regular bus route if you do not fancy a 15 minute walk into Paignton/25 to Torquay, but if you like being right in the centre the location would not be 100% a fit.More
