First rate stay in a first rate guest house, I chose this place because it was number 1 on trip advisor and rightly so. We stayed first week in September 2012. Joanne and Tyron were at the door to greet us when we arrived and from then on they couldn't do enough to help, advice or just chat, they are very hospitable people. We found the place to be spotlessly clean and in easy walking distance for Paignton front and the town center. The more than you can eat breakfast really sets you up for the day, cooked fresh to order of course. We won't need to look any further when we come back to the English Riviera.

Hi ...Sheryl and I stayed there over the Bank Holiday weekend ...the place is small but more than adequate. The owners Tyron and Loanne make you feel very welcome and provide you with fantastic assistance when venturing out , maps, advice , passes ....over and above the call of duty . The rooms are spotless and the place is right next to the sea and all the required amenities. Joanne breakfasts are legendary ...never tasted a better scrambled egg !!
Keep it up you two !! No wonder you are No 1 in Paignton !!

Fantastic place to stay. Warm, friendly atmosphere and the Proprietors Tyron & Joanne were really top people & very helpful & made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived to the very sad day that we had to leave to go home. The stay here is second to none, the rooms being serviced every day. We will be returning as soon as we can. Very clean and the breakfasts were great with plenty of choice. This was our Honeymoon and i wish we could do it all over again there at Trentham Guset House. It is close to alot of amenities, the pier, the town, good pubs serving good food also and the rail /bus links. A space for our car was always made available which was a great help if we decided to drive out for the day some where like Brixham which was only down the road.
Great memories of a lovely sunny honeymoon in August 2012.
Joanne & Steph- Coventry.

We had a stay at the Trentham Guest House for 4 nights in Room 1, Joanne and Tyron made us welcome from when we arrived to the end of the stay.
The room was good and had a really good bathroom with plenty of space, indeed the whole building which has 7 rooms was spacious, as it's an older building and built like a "brick show house" ! The sleep quality was excellent and indeed the bed was really good too, I can imagine the comfort will be the same in all rooms, it is really quite apart from seagulls outside, but this was only a couple of days at dawn, but we did have the window open, Tyron may have an answer to this ?
The breakfast was very good and plentiful, and a had great choice of some or all items on a menu request form which you fill in on arrival, and can alter anytime you want if you feel like a change.

There is parking to the rear but Tyron always ensured all cars had spaces elsewhere, if these were used. I had no problems at all with parking, considering the Guest House is only one street back from the main road and beach, it's only 10mins to the Paighton Pier from this Guest House.
There are plenty of eating and drinking out places well within 5 to 10 mins walk away, the main centre and cinema will take 15 mins walking maximum, so it's a good location.

Tyron is a good laugh and should be entered for "Britain's Got Talent" or a makeover of "Stars in Tyron's Eyes" I think he's a Tommy Cooper fan but with a name like his he may be related !!
Joanne is lovely and friendly, Joanne will always help you as much as possible, and puts together that good breakfast, I noticed during our stay there were two families, all children were also well fed and set up for the day.

There is a lovely big lounge with a massive flat screen television, and all the comfort you would expect, there is a sitting out area at the front if you want to chill and have a drink. the street too is quiet. it's also worth checking on events that happen all year round, there was a circus on when we stayed with the Red Arrows close by on one day.

All in all a Nice Guest House, very reasonably priced for the service and food, friendly, pleasant, homely, very good value all round.

Would return if in the South Coast area, and would recommend to friends with or without children.

Bob & Rachel, Manchester.

Room Tip: All rooms will be quiet, you can hear a pin drop at night, 5 stars here. Spacious rooms.

At last! Someone who finds my jokes funny! I knew you were out there somewhere. This has cheered me up after having to go to the Doctor this morning. I asked him to give me something for wind and he gave me a kite!!!
Seriously though, thank you for your kind words - sorry about the seagulls. Hope we see you again some time.

Breakfast was second to none including cereals and the full english, which left us very satisfied. Tyron and Joanne were very friendly and helpful , Tyron knew the area well and what was going on in the day for entertainment . This is a guest house we highly recommend, and we shall use again. We went to Trentham Guest House for a weekend away - the welcome and friendly ambience meant it was more like visiting friends/family and we would have loved to stay longer.
After the online booking, Tyron telephoned to confirm the arrangements and fill a few details about parking etc.
On arrival he had a parking space outside the Guest house available for us.
We were shown to the room, a good sized double with en suite bathroom. It was spotlessly clean with tv, kettle with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and even a complimentary 2 bottles of water.
After unpacking we were invited to the communal lounge for tea & biscuits and a friendly chat with owners Tyron & Joanne. They gave us a list of things we could choose for breakfast, but added that if we changed our mind it would be no problem. There was also advice on where to go for days out, eating and drinking etc.
They really are a lovely couple with a good sense of humour and will put themselves out to ensure you have an enjoyable and comfortable stay.
They have a motto - arrive as guests, leave as friends - and I can honestly say this was the case.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write a review and also for letting people know about our motto (arrive as a guest - leave as a friend). Without doubt the best part of running a guest house is making new friends all through the year. We like people to feel that they are guests in our home rather than staying in a hotel and we are really happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope you can come back soon.

After enjoying our stay last year we definately chose Trentham without looking at any others. Our greeting was as warm as last time only better because we were used to Tyron and Joanne.Everything was excellent as last time with a few extra treats on top of the other niceties they provide.Another added extra was the fact that they did continental breakfast, although we didn't partake there were lots of choice. We enjoy Joanne's fried breakfast too much to forsake
for healthier choises.Although the weather was not as good as last time it didn't dampen our spirits. We did our usual boat trip to Brixham it only cost £2.00 return and also to Dartmouth £5.00 return..Luckily those two days were both sunny.Because my husband is partially sighted evening travel is restricted so most nights were spent in the Palace Hotel which is closeby. They have some very good acts on and it is very comfortable. The Inn On the Green is a good eating place also Wetherspoons on the High street Along the front there is a carvery which is good value for money.Thank You! Tyron and Joanne for helping to make our holiday special. We know you had a lot of added pressure with Tyron having had quite a big operation but you didn't let it show.Regards to Lynn who was helping you over this period(a nice lady)All being well see you next year.Love Jackie and Pete XX P.S.Hope Tyron's recovering well.
