Good for: Local cuisine
Dining options: Late Night, Breakfast, Delivery, Reservations
Description: We pride ourselves on having a unique combination of menus; with our Tapas style menu consisting of over 25 smaller portion dishes that can be ordered individually as a starter or in multiples to provide a complete meal - a very social and interactive style of dining, promoting lively debate between couples, families or groups until a compromise is reached concluding everyones preferences. This runs alongside our 'Chefs One Plates Menu', vastly different in content, these main courses always including a succulent Steak. These frequently changing dishes focus on our chef's culinary and artistic skills creating thoughtfully flavoured and beautifully presented meals. Lovingly prepared to order, using, as often as possible locally sourced fresh seafood, meat and vegetables.

Family birthday occasion . Welcome and service were perfect . The menu was varied and seemed to avoid basic restaurant fare . Had a mixture of Tapas and main menu , next visit will go for full Tapas menu on sharing basis . The food was well presented and tasty . View over Paignton Harbour enhanced the visit . Well done everyone and we will certainly repeat the visit .

We visited early in February and, even though it's a 450 mile round trip from our home, we couldn't wait to go back.

Unfortunately I can't give Chris and the team 6 out of 5!

From the moment we saw our personalised table reservation to Chris' lovely welcome, we knew we were friends as well as customers.

We had the tapas menu again but different dishes. The pork tenderloin with apple in BBQ sauce and the spicy meatballs were beautiful. The chorizo and mushrooms is just amazing.

Service absolutely faultless as usual.

Table 4, with its beautiful view across the harbour, and the lovely surroundings and food make this the best restaurant I have ever eaten at.

June and August are already booked when we hope to introduce more family and friends to this fabulous food.

If you're looking for a beautiful intimate restaurant with amazing service, fabulous food and a perfect welcome - you don't need to look any further than TJ's

Had to wait 5 months since our last visit as we're not local. Well worth the wait... Travelled down to Devon for birthday treat but to specifically eat here. Booked two nights, each night was faultless. Chris's hospitality is second to none, personalised 'reserved' table makers, lovely surroundings, and food with such deep and rich flavours. Scallops, black pudding and pea volute to start with, along with crispy beef in sweet chilli sauce.

Mains of tapas, chicken & chorizo in creamy peppercorn sauce, spicy meatballs in rich tomato sauce (mix those two dishes together - amazing...), deep fried goats cheese with orange sauce, sirloin strips in balsamic reduction, and pork tenderloin with apples in BBQ cider sauce... Amazing. Such depth of flavour...

That was ample for two if us, with wine, less than £70. With the quality this makes outstanding value. Too many superlatives but TJ's is really very very good.

My only complaint is that TJ's is such a long drive from home (Bournemouth)...

See you again as soon as possible.

Ian and Janet.

Normally we have the tapas but for a change we had meals from the menu. I had pork belly which was delicious, well presented and accompanied by plenty of vegetables. Nice and hot , a real experience. My wife had lamb which slid off the bone it was so tender. Sadly no room for dessert as we full! Congratulations on the new layout of the restaurant. We have friends coming to stay next month and have booked a table for four. Looking forward to our next visit.views over the Bay fantastic!
