We stayed at the Ashleigh the last 3 days in Sept. Mick and Hazel were the perfect hosts. We were met with a welcoming cuppa on arrival before being shown to our room, which was the king size room. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. I thought that the little extra touches in the room, like the carafe of water next to the tea tray, and the 'necessities' box inside the wardrobe, (which incidentally, had more than enough coat hangers provided) were a lovely idea. On going down to breakfast we could choose from cereals, fruit and juices, followed by pretty much whatever combination of cooked breakfast you wanted, with stacks of toast and tea\coffee. Mick and Hazel were very knowledgeable about places of interest and info on how to get there. All in all a fantastic stay. Thanks guys

We read the reviews and The Ashleigh is exactly as everyone states. After three great nights there we would not stay anywhere else in Paighton. Brilliant. Do not just take my word for it, try and you will not be disappointed. We look forward to staying there again. Lorenzo and Tina.

Mick and Hazel, were the best hosts, kind, warm, friendly and welcoming. nothing was too much trouble and we were treated like royalty. The room was spotless, homely and peaceful with a great view of the rugby and cricket grounds. Excellent location peaceful and quiet. The breakfasts were to die for, with a wide range and variety to choose from. I recommend this lovely home away from home to anyone.

Thanks Mick and Hazel

Room Tip: very central great location

We enjoyed staying at Mick & Hazel's Guesthouse so much last year, that we booked in again this July - and enjoyed it even more. We did have wall to wall sunshine which made it even better. Infact our week in Torbay was a bit like St Tropez, but without the language barrier! Needless to say it was a fabulous holiday. The location is just right to explore the whole of the bay by foot, bus, car or boat. Every thing is very accessible. Ashleigh Guesthouse is one of those places you could recommend at the drop of a hat - it is welcoming, spotlessly clean and nicely presented. The rooms are individual with lovely décor in a very homely and practical way, which is just right for your holiday. The breakfasts are wonderful! The menu caters for lots of different tastes and your hosts seem very obliging if you fancy something a bit different from the norm. However Hazel makes a mean full English! - so we were quite content. Mick and Hazel are exceptional hosts with an exceptional Guesthouse. No doubt we will be back........

After knocking on the door of the Ashleigh after travelling over 6 hours on a motorbike, and in need of a cuppa, Hazel and Mick were the perfect hosts. We were on the top floor, but the views were good and the room a reasonable size. I was really impressed with the cleanliness of this B&B. The location was good. Close enough to everything, beach, shops, train station, restaurants etc., The breakfasts were lovely, nothing was too much for Hazel and Mick and trust me I saw a couple of guests that tried their patience and they still treated them with a smile. I wouldn't hesitate in booking with this guest house on our next visit to Paignton,

I would have given Ashleigh 5 stars had our room not been so small! That said, we did ask for one overlooking the park and it had everything we needed, which was fine for a couple of nights but would have been very restrictive if we'd been staying longer. Also, there are only 3 parking spaces on site and once our car was in there we decided to leave it there until actually leaving Paignton as the only way to access the driver's seat would have been via the tailgate! The hospitality we received was wonderful - a lovely friendly welcome with tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival and a superb breakfast - absolutely what we'd asked for and beautifully cooked/presented. Also, I have stayed in many hotels/B & Bs around the world and have NEVER stayed anywhere with a bathroom as spotless at the one we had at Ashleigh - top marks Hazel! I would really have liked to have given you 5 stars but the small bedroom and restricted headroom above one side of the bed meant our room wasn't quite perfect. I would definitely stay again - but not in room 9!

Room Tip: Restricted space in top floor bedrooms but nice view across the park - especially if you like cricke...

Wonderful welcome from Mick and Hazel on arrival which included a much needed cup of tea after a 4½ hour journey!! Our room was clean and was very luxurious. Breakfast was superb having been prepared to guests individual requests as well as eating in a beautiful breakfast room. The guesthouse is located near the beach, shops and harbour and a train station. Overall, the guesthouse is clean and comfortable. Mick and Hazel are friendly and attentive to all their guests-because of their hospitality I will have no hesistation to book at the Ashleigh when we visit Paignton again.
