“Still one of the best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

We have been visiting this site for 30 years. It still offeres a great family experience. The site is immaculte and the facilities although not new are all kept to a very high standard.
The pitches for touring caravans are all well sized and very well placed.
The entertainment is still good although there are one or two occasions where the standards have dropped. Chris still does a fantastic job and is very well backed up by an array of extremely talanted musicians. However they brought in a show last year, which they put together themselves, I think they call it electricity? When it gets going it's ok however in my opinion it is over complicated and they can never get the equipment to work. They started doing it last year and the twice I seen it they had many problems and lost several members of the audience who lost interest and left. Sadly to say this year was still the same. It's a shame as they are trying very hard. This seems to happen quite a lot. When Derek was there everything went like clockwork and things were kept simple enough that no time was lost messing about with equipment. People were entertained from the beginning to the end of the night. Now although some of the entertainment is more intricate there are several occasions where it takes so long to set up people have lost interest.

We booked a 4 night stay at ashvale park with the sun newspaper deal. We payed £15 each for 6 of us and with service charge and passes it came too around £120. We stayed from the 15th of July to the 19th of July and checked the price on the website to find we would of had to pay over £400 for the 5 days. Once we got to the park we found we were in a Cedar Supreme caravan that had parking right outside. The park itself is quite small but has everything you need with amazing views of the sea. On the first night we walked over to beverley park opposite and it was great that we could use all of their facilities too. We got straight in the pool and with the lucky weather we had, it felt like we were abroad! The outdoor and indoor pool at beverley is very clean and was very popular. There was also a gym, sauna, steam and treatment room that we didn't get too use but looked good to me. We played bingo almost every night at ashvale and I would say that the entertainment is a little more upmarket than the sort of thing you get at butlins or pontins. One night over at beverley the bingo jackpot was £120! Ashvale is great to stay in the caravans at as its a lot quieter than beverley park, but the facilities and the swimming pool at beverley were the best. We had food from both parks, and both were very reasonable prices. The food we had at the upperdeck restaurant was very tasty! With the takeaways at both parks having the best chicken nuggets my daughter had ever tasted :)
I have to say that for £120 for six of us in July, Ashvale park was brilliant. Paignton itself is great fun too, with lots to do down the beaches, with a big waterpark down the road and woodlands about a half hour drive away. Overall, I would reccomend both beverley and ashvale park to anyone, it was fantastic!

I have been going to Beverley park for the past 18 years. It is by far the best holiday site. The facilities are amazing and as for the entertainment team it is first class. Chris(parklife drummer) has done an exceptional job the past two seasons continuing without Derek, who he had worked with for 26 years. Him, tony and Derry are amazing entertainers although I am disappointed that Steve won't be there this summer! The four of them were brilliant with the kids during their Kidz half hour at the start of every night.Rodger has been a a great addition to the team too. Best thing about the entertainments team is it isn't the cheesy usual entertainment you get at haven or butlins! Hope to see a return of t-t-t-t Tony's tone zone this summer!!

We stayed at ashvale park from 12-15 th July , me my partner and 5 year old son. The caravan was old, and a bit rough round the edges (maple) but was immaculately clean and looked as though it had fairly new carpets and upholstery in. There were plenty of plates etc and a clothes airer , always handy for wet towels! Ashvale has a bar and entertainment complex with stunning views from the bars big window. It also has an outdoor heated pool with terraced area for drinks and snacks. This is a wonderful place to sit due to the fantastic views! The shop and snack bar/ takeaway have restricted opening times so check this out if you need to use these. The facilities at Beverly park over the road are slightly more upmarket and better kept, and this place too is immaculate!!! The public areas are kept to a very high standard and they do a great job in the upkeep of these two parks. In my opinion I'd rather stay on ashvale than Beverly as it is not as big or busy and I felt fine letting my son play around the caravan where we couldn't see him. It is less than two minutes to walk between to two parks so its not an inconvenience at all.
Both parks have a good play area for children. The one at ashvale is perfectly situated so can be seen from the bars sun terrace!
The entertainment. Hmmm. I work with children and have done for nearly ten years and I have to say the children's 'entertainer' at Beverly leaves a lot to be desired , on our first night there we witnessed him( the gentleman must be 70 years old!!! Hardly up and coming for a children's entertainer) tell the family of one child to "come and calm him down he's being ridiculous" the 'ridiculous behaviour' was a child clearly excited and happy to be taking part in one of the games! I wAs gobsmacked, the family left I'm guessing due to a mixture of anger at being spoken to like that, and embarrassment that it took place with everyone aware of what was going on. The poor boy was in floods of tears and was so upset to be taken away from the games. He had done nothing wrong apart from enjoy himself!!
The entertainer tried to redeem it by saying its ok he can stay and play, what an absolute shambles.
He also 'swapped' children if he didn't think they had the ability to take part 'properly' in the games?!
This is something that really really needs to be looked into.
On the flip side the entertainment at ashvale was amazing! Wonderful with the kids , well organised acts , and funny too,. My advice is spend your evenings at ash vale the children are welcomed properly and the acts are brilliant. We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely return, just give Beverley's entertainment a miss and stick to ashvale.

First time at Ashvale and I was very happy to be on the quiet 'sister' park - we used Ashvale for the entertainment Fri / Sat night and used the lovely indoor / outdoor pools at Beverley (2 mins up the road) - Ashvale does have its own outdoor pool and sun loungers though no one was using it even though the weather was great..
We did have the 2 steaks for £20 at the Upper deck ( Beverley Park) and the food and service was very good.
Booked again for May 2014 so must be good.
Bit too far to walk to Goodrington Sands and you need to catch the bus or drive unless you are up for a good hike.

Room Tip: Very quiet down the bottom of the hill i
