The BEST chip shop in Paignton (Preston) BY FAR!

For a seaside resort Paignton is sadly lacking in good restaurants and chip shops, however the London Fryer never lets you down. Always busy and for a good reason! Worth the wait every time and as mentioned before, a visit at Halloween is always good fun! Keep up the good work guys!

Always very busy, though the service is fast. The proprietors always have seasonal decorations which are rather kitsch and well worth seeing - they still had the Easter bunnies up when I visited early April and visiting the shop at Halloween to see all the garish ghosts and ghouls is not to be missed! Sit-down or takeaway, though I think takeaway is best. The food is always tasty and freshly cooked and good value. Well worth a visit.

After being let down at the last minute by a mobile chippy the London Fryer stepped in to cater for our party! A home delivery of 30 portions of cod, chips and mussy peas was no problem for them. All delivered on individual trays with all condiments provided. What a star you are Roy. Everyone commented on the quality of the fish and what a great service.

I have eaten traditional fish and chips as our nation’s favourite dish for a long time and know good fish and chips.
In fact the whole of Britain eat fish and chips at some point and know a decent chip when they taste one.
I visited the London Fryer today after hearing a radio promotion and have eaten here several times before.
I was pleasantly greeted and served my food with a smile but when I began to eat the food the chips were drastic, come on how can you serve this standard of chips unless you like yellow under-cooked chips, limp and still firm ‘el dente’.
This was once one of the best fish and chip shops in Torbay but if cutting corners to save heat and oil then continue to fry like this and your reputation will be gone!!!
If you require lessons on frying I’ll do it for free!!

I will go to Paul’s Plaice, Richard’s across the road or Scoffs in future.

Just been into the London fryer, the service was disgusting, they charge £1.20 for cheese on a portion of chips!! The lady on the counter was rude and intimidating, not friendly at all. The guy frying was vile and rude. The chips were not cooked, and paying £1.20 for a sprinkle of cheese on my chips you would expect the cheese to be nice, but in fact it was fake tasting and that plastic texture. Would never step foot in that place!!
