“JUST WONDERFUL!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

Just got back from our 3rd stay at channel view hotel and we have booked to go again next year,it`s a small friendly hotel on arrival you are welcomed by Jenny she takes you to your room and offers you tea or coffee in the conservatory. The hotel is in a lovely spot,we like to have a sea view room,to the left you can see torquay and to the right is brixham,it`s just wonderful like looking at a postcard from the window, the hotel has a large conservatory and from that you have the bar area and dinning room that looks out to sea.The rooms are very comfortable and the food we can`t fault it.Tom & Jenny treat you like family they are so welcoming nothing is too much trouble for them, their guests go back year after year. Thanks Tom & Jenny for another lovely holiday and we hope to have many more at Channel View in the years ahead, you do a great job wished we had found you years ago

Room Tip: Any sea view room

I have just arrived back home from a weeks holiday at the Channel View Hotel, the company, the hosts Tom and Jenny, it was all worth an amazing visit.
The Breakky and Evening meals are both delicious and they most certainly fill you up.
I look forward to returning next year.
Thank You

My wife and I have just spent two weeks at this hotel and it was just as wonderful has our last visits. Now that we are both retired from work, we spend a lot of time touring around the UK. However, we always make sure we can find time to stay with Jenny & Tom; they are the perfect hosts. They are a friendly happy family and it rubs off on all their guests. On arrival we were greeted with afternoon tea while Tom took our baggage from the car to our room. The room we had was number 4 which has fantastic sea views. There is a conservatory just off the dining area and bar, it is furnished with extremely comfortable seating and if you got any nearer to the sea you would get your feet wet. The food was expected to be first class and we were certainly not let down, it was delicious each breakfast and evening. Although the hotel was quite full we did not have to wait for our food to be served. Our room had adequate space, enough room to hang our clothing and still some. The bathroom was quite large with a shower to match. We were disappointed to leave but we will go back. And of course Tom was happy to carry our luggage back to our car. Excellent!

have just returned from a spur of the moment 2 night stay at the channel view, we were allocated room 8 which is a family room at the back. room size ok for us two but wouldn't want to stay there with children. the mattress was very uncomfortable, could feel a few springs. the shower was quite old and ran scalding one minute and cold the next. oh, and don't drop your soap as you won't be able to bend down to pick it up! all that said, the dining area and conservatory are very nice, food is good, and jenny is a lovely lady, didn't get to meet tom. the hotel is in a wonderful position just outside the centre of paignton and it does have lovely views. all in all a good value break for what we paid just a little disappointed with our room.

Room Tip: avoid room 8

having stayed at this hotel , for a short Easter creak , I would like to say Tom and Jenny were very welcoming to us . We were offered tea/ coffee on arrival ! We had a ground floor room by choice we found it very very clean and comfabale! The breakfast and evening were well worth what we paid for , nothing was too much trouble , I am sure if their was somthink you didn't like , you could have had somthink different , without the fuss . That we have encountered in many hotels , the sea view are brill ! Couldn't get any closer than we were to the sea , it was nice to sit in the converstery and watch the sea with a pot of tea ! We found lots of people go back to this hotel time and time again which reflects on Jenny @ Tom very nice people ' we met four German couples , who have friends in Devon , and stay at this hotel . What lovely people they were very in tune with us English ( their friends were English ) they had the most funny sense of hummor very easy to get on with Easter Sunday they placed choc bunnies and hand painted boiled eggs to the breakfast table , a tradional thing they do ! all in all a very lovely hotel , loved the chefs home made Yorkshire puds we will be back later in the year . Thanks for a lovely stay

Have been going to The Channel View hotel since 2002. Tom and Jenny are very friendly and welcome you with a pot of tea or coffee. The rooms are spotlessly clean and there are only 22 wide stairs to climb to get to the third floor with your luggage. There is no entertainment but the other guests are so friendly that you soon have your own entertainment. The hotel commands fantastic views of the bay which you can enjoy from the very pleasant conservatory. .Have already booked for next year as have most of the guests who stayed the same week this year. Fantastic week.
