Stayed here for two nights with my boyfriend it was our first holiday away together and my first time in Devon and thank you so much Yvonne and Mark for making this time so special. We had a lovely time, nothing was too much trouble and our breakfast every morning was gorgeous, Yvonne was so attentive and always had a warm smile and good chat in the morning (and made a smashing brew!) We stayed in room 1 and it was a HUGE room, very clean and modern and we had a very comfortable couple of nights.

Thanks for everything, will definitely be returning!

Stayed at the Ambassador with my girlfriend 19-21 aug 2013. This was a great guest house and we were given a warm welcome by Yvonne and shown to our room. We were told where DVDs, breakfast and where they were in case we needed them. We were given the big family room on the ground floor with an en suite shower room. The room was modern and very spacious (see pictures). Breakfast consisted of sausage, bacon, beans, mushrooms, fried bread, hash brown and black pudding which was cooked to perfection by Mark. On the second afternoon I asked Mark for a couple more tea bags and gave us five (no issues on tea bags!) I noticed the biscuits hadn't been replenished so I asked Mark for a packet. Unfortunately he had ran out (easy thing to do) but then offered us a couple of penguins instead which just shows how he'd do anything to make us happy and resolve any situation, rather than just saying that they'd haven't got any. (I preferred penguins anyway!) Overall a great budget guest house with a lovely breakfast and perfect hosts! I would definitely recommend and will return if I come to Paignton again! Thanks, Kris & Alice

Location: On Sands Road leading down to the beach front at the harbour side of Paignton a few minutes walk. Or turn left and left again and after a few minutes on the road with train station. So excellent position since your more or less in the center but without the noise. Goodrington Sands is nearby but probably a little too far to walk mainly due to the steep hill to walk up and down but 2 minutes in the car otherwise.

Parking: There's 3 or 4 parking places on the front of the B&B. A bit tight to get in or out but no problem otherwise and saves on parking fees while in Paignton.

Accomodation: We had a ensuite family room, which had double and 2 singles. It had television in the room, which we didn't really use that much and that's saying something with our kids. Tea and coffee making facilities. On arrival there was two bottles of mineral water, which was appreciated. The ensuite had a shower rather than bath but that's no issue. A wardrobe and enough draws for a family of four. The room itself was tastefully decorated and on the ground floor at the front. Was concerned we'd get some noise from the road outside but it's far enough away from the road and wasn't an issue.

Breakfast: There are some forms near the front door, which you use to choose your breakfast the night before. That sounds awkard but really isn't since the choice of breakfasts is good from traditional to scotch pancakes. You get a choice of the usual suspects and the forms allows you add and remove items like black pudding if you want. You get a selection of cerials and greek style yogurt with fruit plus fruit juices. I had the traditional the first morning and scotch pancakes the next. The scotch pancakes were very good reminded of the those fluffy ones in America but better. Warning very filling. Check their website for a full list on what's on offer. The small breakfast room overlooks the criket ground.

Yvonne was very helpful. Sorted out Blackurrant drink for our son for breakfast and works hard at breakfast time making sure everyone is okay or if they wanted something different sorted it.

Mark, we never actually met him. I presumed he was the one busy in kitchen cooking but if that was him his pancakes were great.

The true test is whether the kids would go back and both have said yes and hoping to pop back in September.

Nothing was too much trouble for Mark and Yvonne and they are very friendly. Mark is a mine of tourist information, and his breakfasts are wonderful with perfect serving from Yvonne. You don't get smoked salmon for breakfast in many guest houses! Parking is a bonus, even if it is a bit tight.

Room Tip: Superior room at back is nice and quiet.

the Ambassador is a lovely B+B,very homely and Yvonne and Mark do everything they can can look after you.Its in a very good position, close to bus and train station and not far from the sea front and harbour.
Yvonne does a brilliant job keeping the rooms clean and well stocked with tea/ coffee and toiletries, the towels were changed regularly and we even had a change of bedding midweek which you dont normally get for a weeks holiday.
Marks breakfasts are yummy, ( I recommend the pancakes) if a cooked breakfast is not your thing there is lots to choose from on the menu.
This was our second visit and we will be heading back there when we can.

Room Tip: We had a twin room on the back with a nice view of the cricket pitch.
