“2 3/4hrs for 2 courses !”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

8 of us came for a leaving do, we pre-ordered our food 24hrs before and had a table booked for 7.30, we arrived at 7.15 and was seated straight away, the owner then came over to confirm our food and we thought belting, drinks were ordered and they took a long time and also overcharged for several drinks and when queried they took a further 20 minutes to come back to you, Our starters came at 8.20 ! we were starving and ready to eat the table top by then people who had arrived after us and ordered at the table were on their 2nd course by then, the main came at 8.50 a further half and hour, by this time a was on water ! the waitresses only went to one end of the table. No one apologised for the wait for food and we will not be going again, we eventually left at 9.45 tired and wanting to go home because we had been in so long, how can you pre-order and still be 2 & 3/4 hours in a restaurant, we felt like we were the only ones in the only good thing was a couple got engaged while we were their !

“Real food for real people.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013 via mobile

I've been staying in hotels in the Wigan area for the last couple of weeks with work and so have been eating out every night as a result. After having tried pretty much all of the top 20 on trip advisor I can safely say that Gallimore's is the only place that manages to offer the triple combo of great food, great service and great price. This is real food for real people.

“Good value, good food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

Friends took us to this restaurant, and we were very impressed. Staff were very attentive and efficient. We went on a Sunday at 4pm, and plumped for the 2 courses for less than a tenner. We all had soup of the day, which was one of the nicest soups that I have had in a restaurant.

I had lamb shank, 2 other members of the party had roast lamb, and the other had the fish and chips.

All were substantial and delicious, but I have to give special mention to the fish, which was huge, and very fresh.

Will certainly visit again next time that we are in Wigan.

“Lovely lasagne”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

My sister and I ate here after a morning shopping in Wigan. There is lots of choice, many specials and very friendly staff. The lunch menu has a wide choice, from sandwiches and salads to starters and mains. We were spoilt for choice but both opted for the lasagne as recommended by the cheery waitress. We both agreed it was delicious a good choice indeed and one of the best we've had. We didn't have dessert as it was a very filling meal. We would recommend Gallimores. I have eaten here in the past and have always found the set menus (on other days), although a little bit more expensive than some places, are good value too. The prices are a bit random on the lunch menu. The only negative was that the place was too hot as there is no air con downstairs. Other than that, can't fault Gallimore's, definitely a top choice in Wigan.
