We visited the Miller and carter at Parbold last weekend and have been meaning to write a review for sometime but after such a really nice evening wanted to give this restaurant our views. On arrival we had a very warm welcome and advised to have a drink at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready, a good choice of wines and beers on offer, we didn't wait very long before we were taken to our table which was by a lovely open log burning fire and in the daylight a amazing views of surrounding areas of parbold ....Our server Danielle straight away made her self known us and was very attentive through out our whole dining experience, we as a family of 3 chose a starters combo to share which was very tasty and for main course steaks which Danielle advised us on how to have our steaks cooked which were in our opinion the best steaks ever! we all had different types of steaks and all cooked to perfection, throughout our whole dining experience we felt looked after and staff cant do enough for you and always with a smile. Thanks to Danielle and the staff for a yet another very enjoyable evening. See you all again very soon! definitely recommend for any occasion.

Cant fault the place. Best steaks by far in area and the service was outstanding. Our waitress Kim made our evening special and even put a candle in my husband's dessert as I mentioned it was his birthday, very nice touch. We will be returning.

Went online to book and the website had no tables available at the time I wanted however I telephoned and they managed to 'fit me in'.
We went in and the place was very busy, usually a good sign but unfortunately not on this occasion.
On arrival we were a little early and were directed to the bar for a drink, we ordered and asked to have the cost put on the food bill but was informed that the bar could not do this but the waitress could, so I paid for the drinks in cash!
A bit odd and totally useless as we hadn't been allocated a table or a waitress at that time.
The table was then available on time although it had no condiments or candle, as did the other tables but salt and pepper was brought as the food arrived.
We weren't particularly hungry so we opted for the 'hand battered haddock', I'm not sure how else you would batter a fish but hey ho!
Within 5 minutes of ordering the meals arrived, quick service but clearly the fish were pre cooked and/or microwaved.
The quality of the fish was poor, not fresh fish but was either of the frozen or chill cook variety, it was bland and fairly tasteless plus it had quite a few bones in it.
The 'fries' were bog standard frozen rubbish, the mushy peas were ok.
It wasn't an expensive meal at £8.50 per head but I think we would have been better going to the Acropolis chippy in Ormskirk where freshly cooked FRESH haddock, REAL chips and mushy peas would have only set us back about £6.00 per head!
As the title says I did expect better quality than that presented to us, maybe it was because they were busy or maybe because they are described as a 'steakhouse' so other foodstuffs take second place, whatever the reason it was a disappointing experience and we won't be back!
