We attended as a party of 6 a birthday. As we have previously we went to the Billinge arms for a drink before the meal and let the bar staff know we were here when our table was ready. After 30 minutes past the time of our reservation we let them know again and then a further 15 minutes later. My brother then got a call from the restaurant asking where we where. Despite my brother attempting to explain the staff were dismissive and rude as if it was our fault! The food was good but the atmosphere was spoilt by poor service throughout. We werent the only unhappy table of the evening as the table next to us also complained to staff about both the food and service. It's a shame that such a good restaurant, with good chefs and the pleasant pianist playing are spoiled by poor management and disorganised and rude staff. Will not be in a hurry to return!

Had a nice meal here with family on a Saturday evening. Food was nice, partner had meatballs for starter they were gorgeous, I had the pate which was nice. The bread that came as an accompaniment was soft and delicious. Mixed grill of fish for my main was great, I will return for more of this. Partner had steak which was nicely cooked but a little fatty, she prefers fillet steak but this is not on the menu. Tiramisu for dessert was okay but not enough coffee/flavour it was more like a cream sponge. Wine was a little more expensive than other similar places I have visited but this was made up for by the atmosphere of the place I especially enjoyed the pianist and the decor of the place is really nice.

Well we have just been here with a party of 16, they happily accommodated us but the problems we had were endless. None of the starters came together and several main meals were eaten before 4 people's meals had arrived. One person cancelled their order it took that long. When asked for the restaurant manager we were told there isn't one! Unbelievable. There was no excuse, yes it was a big table but we met our friends in there and they messed their meals up too and that was just a table of 2. I must say the food they did arrive was good, pasta bland but on the whole good but the service was absolutely awful, considering they knew this was a 60th Birthday meal too it was completely unacceptable. We had to deal with the bad manager from the Billinge Arms in the end and this wasn't easy. It turned out they knocked 40% off the total bill which is ok but it doesn't change the fact that 3 people are on their own and one person cancelled their meal. It was a very disappointing evening and I would seriously consider an alternative option as the service here is very poor. Massive turnover of staff, nobody knows that they're doing. Seriously think twice before booking a table here.

We visited Bella Roma with our grandaughter on Saturday 12th Oct. we had an early booking and when we arrived there were only a handful of customers and approximately 6 staff, milling around. We went as we heard there had been a change of management and the food had improved however I am sad to say this isn't so and the standard of food has not changed since we were last there 12 months ago. The prawns in garlic lacked some oomph which they had previously. And the seafood risotto was overpowered by the amount of smoked salmon in it. Despite the number of staff (the majority were under 21 and appeared to be students) service was very slow as the restaurant filed up, but when there are more staff than customers??
This was "last chance saloon" and We will not be returning here again. On another note the resident pianist seemed to have had lessons from Les Dawson!

Having had several meals at the Bella Roma i have to say that i am shocked at the level that the service has fallen to. Having to wait 30 minutes before the very disinterested waitress finally took our drinks and meal order was just not good enough, and when we asked for a replacement glass that had lipstick around the edges, guess what another ten minute wait until it arrived without any apologies what so ever, that is not the way to treat paying customers.
The starter when it finaly arrived was very tasty and hot as was the main meal, but it was another 35 minutes before the dessert order was taken and that took another 20 minutes to arrive, but the bill took 30 seconds. Very strange how certain parts of the service are very quick.
The last time we visited they said the service problem was due to new staff being trained, so we decided to give it another go that was four months ago and things have gone from bad to worse, so another place will get our patronage.
