We've been to the Owls a few times before and the food (especially for the price - £7.95 for 3 courses) has never disappointed. Our only criticism when we went on Thurs 8th Aug was that we felt a bit rushed. No sooner had we finished a course than another was brought out, with no option to wait 5 or 10 mins. It won't stop us from going back though!

We went on Friday.and it was excellent. We have been a couple of times and each time the food has been lovely. For £7.95 we all (4 people) had a 3 course meal. The only disappointment is that you have to go to the bar to buy drinks separately unless you want a bottle of wine which they will serve at the table. Overall a lovely resteraunt in a lovely setting

Not many places do a 2 course lunch for under £7, with home made soups, fresh cooked veg and lots of choice. Eaten here loads and always good food and service. Plenty of choice on the menu, can highly recommend the homemade cheese and onion pie. Food arrives with separate potatoes and veg, chips are homecooked not frozen rubbish, and lots of them. Taken family and friends who have all been impressed.

Went to this restaurant on a Saturday as part of a birthday party, we were seated at long tables with little room for manoeuvre. I ordered the fillet steak which was very good. However as it was very busy I felt that we were being pushed to finish our meal as they wanted the tables. The bar was also a bit of nightmare to get served from. So all in all although the food was good I felt we were being a bit rushed.

Went on a Saturday night so no set menu.

Overpriced food, cooked to within an inch of its life. The sirloin steak and a peppercorn sauce was about £14 do you'd expect it to be OK. It wasn't. Tiny, shrivelled sorry looking piece of meat which was a funny colour.

The meals were thrown at us. Everybody was given the wrong order and we were left to work it ourselves.

Sat upstairs and it was like sitting in an oven so we moved downstairs for a drink before we left, struggled to get a seat and made to feel like we were in the way.

It was terrible the last time we went. We live nearby and was hoping it had improved.

We'll carry on driving to Worthington/Parbold area for a decent meal.
