We went here, as we did last year, for a pre-Christmas night out with family who live in the local area. Upon arrival we were seated in the bar area and presented with menus; the staff were great and it is a wonderfully relaxing way to chose dinner options from the extenxive menu. In due course we were shown to our table and service was handed over to the Gloom team. The staff were terrible on this particualr night, I had to act out what goes on in the ground and rugby tackle a waiter to place a drinks order and when they arrived the waitress tried to fob us off with a tale that there is no difference between dry and medium wine - it's all white! We were'nt the only table suffering in this way, it seemed that the whole restaurant staff were having a bad night of it. It was epitomised when 5 of us walked past the duty manager (at least I think he was) on the way out and didn't even get a response to our good night and Merry Christmas courtesies.
The food was great and the portions plentiful in that I have no complaints, just don't waste time pondering over the wine menu or waiting to be acknowledged by the staff, not on this night anyway.
