On first impressions of this hotel, it looked ok, we booked in with the gentleman on the reception desk and was given or room number etc. From here it went down hill, on first impressions of the rooms they were dated, the bathroom had a strange smell, the shower would only run cold water, the room was freezing, the televison would only work on certain channels, the list was endless. We went down stairs and spoke to the reception guy who told the heating would come on at 5pm. We then thought we we would have a drink in the bar, the price of drinks was reasonable, we then felt abit hungry so decided to order some food, everything we ordered or tried to order should i say they had run out or they were taking it off the menu in the end we gave up trying to order anything. may i add that there was a sign outside the pub stating food served between certain times. Bit of joke really! we decide to go back to our room, may i add that it was after 5 so the heating should of been on and low and behold the room was still freezing cold. We quickly got ready and went to a night wedding do which is the reason we were stopping in the hotel in the first place. We arrived back at the hotel and our room, which was still freezing cold. I think we got a couple of hours of sleep through being cold and from the noise of a motor or generator of some sort through the night! After the dreadful nights sleep in the morning we had to listen to a conversation of swearwords in the courtyard from some staff having a coffee break! the only good thing about the stay was the breakfast in the morning! I think i can safely say that we will not be returning to this hotel in the near future!

Have stayed here a couple of times over the last couple of months - facilities are good, clean spacious rooms - all you could ask for given the price - the hotel itself is very accessible either by foot from the town centre or by car as it has its own large car park to the rear.

if I have to say one thing about the place it must be to mention the excellent staff.... So very bubbly and accommodating!! Nothing is too much trouble.... All the Bar staff are friendly and enjoy a good bit of banter, prices are VERY reasonable @ £2.65 a pint - reception staff are very polite and helpful... the food is also excellent! J can cook you up a storm and will cater for almost anything on request if given enough notice!!

Definitely worth a look if your looking for somewhere to stay and need to watch the pennies!

I've also hired some of the hotels rooms for functions/training sessions in work.... There's a Large spacious room available and again as mentioned earlier the staff will look after you and your delegates without a shadow of a doubt!

I had my wedding ceremony and reception here and must say it was the best day by far! The staff were fantastic, the room decorated beautifully, looked like a fairy tale wedding. The staff looked after us from all the way through. The rooms that were provided for me and my guests were comfortable and clean, the food was amazing! I would highly recommend for others looking for the perfect place for their perfect day! Thank u Bellingham x x

right where do i start!!!....................apart from be warned....we booked a twin room... when we got there the beds did not match,, furniture looked like it had been left out in the rain, net on windows was black, looking outside the window onto the flat roof was fag ends broken bottles etc, carpet dirty, in need of just ripping up mind you the lot needed ripping up, think the whole hotel should be closed down, they say they do weddings.... could not think of a worse place to get married... never mind stop the night, dirty, gone past is sell by date over charged, and no TVs in room but still charged the same price as other rooms, a friend just had a bed in his room and that was it...cold, came home and had a shower as felt dirty, would not take children there, in fact would not go there again,,,,, advice just dont book there....

What an absolute disgrace. A function room which was bitterly cold and unwelcoming. A buffet booked for fourteen so there were fourteen plates, fourteen napkins, fourteen sets of cutlery. The ladies toilet did not have towels or hand dryers. The buffet was paid for in advance but a pot of coffee and a pot of tea were charged extra at £27.00. Avoid at all costs.

Room Tip: at another hotel
