Went with colleague for lunch just before Christmas. The restaurant we were looking for was closed that day, and so we just happened to find this one. Had bread and olives to start, two large Peronis (reasonably-priced), some water and two pizzas. Portions were fine (couldn't finish my pizza - which is unusual for me). The restaurant wasn't crowded at all (weekday), and the service was fine and attentive. Food arrived quickly. The food lacked a certain-something or other (needed better cheese maybe on the pizza, or more garlic/hot pepper in the sauce), but that's nitpicking. Would have liked salt and pepper on table, but apart from that we were both happy with what we received. There are arguably-better, more authentic Italian restaurants in Durham, where you feel free to ask for a bit more of this, a bit more of that, or even to ask for thigns not on the menu, but this seemed to be reasonable value.

Buzzing with people, atmosphere was electric, such a beautiful part of durham, and such a beautiful venue, service quality was lacking even though service charged... forgotten amongst the crowds of people service ok, nothing to write home about...

Cheap food but I think they use imitation cheese on the pizzas because it was really tasteless and greasy. The pricing is ridiculous and doesn't make sense but I'd rather spend more money and eat better food but it is ok for big parties.

We enjoyed a fabulous night here with friends, loved the atmosphere and the staff were very friendly, will certainly return. Not the cheapest of places but good quality

The food here is lovely, and the staff are friendly and helpful. We visited with a 15 month old and were offered a table with more room, and were given a high chair straight away. However, for the price I do feel they're better Italiens in the area. We had a voucher which made it more affordable.
