What a wonderful find! Perfect for visiting family in Seaham. Lovely location next to the church with a stream (beck?) at the bottom of the garden. Very clean and homely with everything one could possibly need. We shall stay here again.

“A little oasis”
Reviewed May 8, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Just back from a 3 night stay at St Cuthbert's cottage and what a find!

The cottage is situated a the end of a terrace next to the church. A stream runs behind and the bird feeders attract a variety of birds to the courtyard at the back of the property. We also saw rabbits and heard pheasants.

The inside of the cottage is very cosy with woodburners in the main rooms downstairs and central heating throughout. The kitchen is well equipped with a generous welcome basket provided. Mick had baked us some sage and onion bread which was delicious.

The bedrooms were also comfortable and the bathroom had a shower over the bath so there was the option of a long soak after a day on the beach looking for sea glass.

We found plenty of places to eat in Seaham but if you want to cook at the cottage there's an Aldi and an Asda in the town centre to get your supplies.

We took a bus into Sunderland - just a few minutes walk to the bus stop outside the pub and then an easy 20 minute ride. The fares were very reasonable and much cheaper than at home.

We had a great time and I am already planning a return visit. The cottage is a lovely place to stay and you won't be disappointed.

“Cozy and relaxing home away from home”
Reviewed March 28, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We have just returned from spending three nights in this peaceful cottage...we had such a lovely time, it's in a beautiful peaceful setting, lots of bird life in the garden, and the stream running through. The ridiculously sized welcome basket was such a treat, especially the fresh home made bread! Chocolate Easter bunnies, beer, chips and dips, sweets, butter, juice..and on and on! Everything you need is there, two wood burning stoves for if the evenings get chilly, only about five minutes drive from the much visited Seaham beach! We definitely will return. Thank you once again Mick and Julie for making us feel special.

“A little bit extra”

Numerous little extras from the home made bread in the welcome pack to the free wifi meant that this was a holiday to remember for all the right reasons.

“Beautiful setting”
Reviewed August 26, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Smiles all round when we arrived at the cottage. So welcoming and clean. We loved sitting out the back listening to the stream. Even saw an otter which made my day.
All the little extras made such a difference. Not only a lovely welcome pack including homemade bread, chocolate and wine but liquid soap, shower gel, dishwasher tablets etc, couldn't have asked for more.
My 4 year old left his favourite toy and after a quick text to Mick, no problem he'll post home thanks Mick.
All in all, a wonderful stay in a comfy, cosy cottage. Will definitely return.
