We booked this hotel for a Sunday night stay based on the positive reviews on TA and were pleased with our choice. The hotel is close to the A1 and a short drive to Durham - you could just about walk to town but it'd be a fair treck. There's ample parking and a pub next door.

At check in (and at all other times) the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were particularly impressed at their single female policy which was made available to one of our party - very thoughtful.

The room was standard for a Premier Inn. Relatively basic but with a decent amount of space and a bathroom with bath The room was clean upon arrival and the beds made up in the requested config. The room was chilly on arrival but soon warmed up once we put the heating on and the cold temperature probably had more to do with being in the North East than Premier Inn!
.
If you're looking for some value acommodation in thr Durham area and have a car, then you can't o wrong with this friendly little hotel.

Stayed for 2 nights, very quiet location, ample and free parking. A basic room with all that you need for a frills free stay. Very clean with en suite facilities and easy to reach the centre of Durham from there.

This is the second time I've used this Premier Inn to break the long journey from Edinburgh to/from Norwich and I'll be using it again.

There are no surpises in terms of what you get, just off the A1 but far enough away that road noise is not an issue. A clean basic, but fresh, generously sized room which even includes a short amount of free wifi. Check in staff are very friendly and on the ball.

I booked well in advance and paid a total of £73 for the room, three course evening meal for two with a drink and a huge breakfast the next day. (£29 for the room bargain, and to be fair the food was very good for the type of restaurant it is).

Handy for heading into Durham as well.

Room Tip: All the rooms will be similar maybe ask for one on the top floor at the end of a corridor, less people passing your door at night. Though that wasn't an issue for me.

First time staying at this hotel. Visiting Durham on a long weekend and got a value price for two nights. The hotel is conveniently situated near to the A1M. It is about two miles to the city centre, a littel far to walk, but as a tip ask the Receptionist to guide you to the local B&Q, where you can catch a bus into the middle of the city for £1.40, there is one every ten minutes. The room itself was clean and well presented. could not complain, though the room was always a little warm.. eat at the Table table Pub next door for evening meal and breakfast. The food is excellent and the staff were great. Would recommend hotel and pub.
