The cottage is only a few minutes drive from Durham easily accessible on the park and ride service. There are a number of attractions close by including the Beamish Museum a fantastic day out and not to be missed. There are many supermarkets within a couple of miles of the cottage including Lidl and Tesco, and numerous pubs to try in the area. The cottage was so clean and had everything you could possibly need it truly felt like home from home. The owners were so friendly and always on hand should you need guidance. We hope to return to this wonderful cottage again we had a fantastic holiday and loved exploring the area.
Lovely property! The only downside is the location which obviously cannot be changed. But ideal for viciting Durham.
We are two couples who have just returned from a stay at the Cottage. The two ( very large) bedrooms with ensuites were perfect for the four of us. The Cottage was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and most comfortable.
The location made it very convenient for visits to Durham, Beamish and Bishop Auckland. We would not hesitate to recommend it to others
We had a very comfortable stay in this well planned restored cottage. It was renovated to a high standard and offered everything you could need.
Dot & Dave the owners are a lovely couple too.
Just spent four wonderful days at the 5star rated Willington hall cottage.
Absolutely marvellous , spotlessly clean , everything one would need supplied , fabulous log burner , great kitchen fully equipt.
Thank you Dot .
Situated in a small village near Crook this was a great location. Great for a bus ride into Durham. Visited place with memories from my childhood having been shipped to my Aunt and Uncle for the summer holidays from the Midlands. High Force and Stanhope well worth a short drive out. Had to go to Newcastle to pay homage to St James Park having been a lifelong supporter. Newcastle is a lovely city and is especially nice around the Quayside. We chose to Park and ride which worked out fine. Whitley Bay and South Shields also held fond memories and is great for the kids. Need a whole day at Beamish, even saw the pit cottages and Band House from Hetton, the village we used to stay in. Seaham is also well worth a visit. There is a statue of a soldier returning from the great war. It is very moving... then fish and chips in Downey's best i have tasted in a long time. The cottage was perfect, tastefully very well fitted out in all departments. Clean and well equiped and well worth the 5 Star staus. Look forward to going back.
