Whilst the service was wonderful unfortunately the food was not. Ordered beef and ale pie and the pastry was rock hard, meat tasteless and gravy lumpy.
Emailed the company but no response. Very disappointing.

Had a pleasant couple of drinks one evening and a very nice cooked to order breakfast the next morning. Food and drinks (a well kept real ale for me) were very nice and reasonably priced. The pub has a large car park.

We were just traveling through the area and stayed at the hotel next door. We wandered over to get our evening meal and enjoyed the buffet. The food was just OK, but the price was right as well. The next morning we ate breakfast there and headed south.
We were a group of 4 and we were all happy with this stop.

The themed buffets each evening from 5pm are good - eat as much as you like for about £5 or £6. Very good value and acceptable quality. Have been a few times and never had any trouble getting a table as it's usually quiet. Themes include Chinese, Mexican, curry and chip shop cuisines. Sometimes have to wait a while for dishes to be replenished. Other offers are often available, such as 2 desserts for £2 and a second drink for half price. Service is quite enthusiastic - I lost count of the number of times we were asked if everything was all right or if we wanted more drinks.
