I went there a couple of times, it is close to Radisson Blu in Durham so if you get bored by the room service this is your best choice to go and have a great, delicious and very quick dinner if you like Thai couisine. You can get food to go as well.
Staff is nice and smiling. View is just on the beautiful castle.
I recommand the scallop souffle which is the best so far. It is served in big shells.

Top quality Thai food as if prepared in Pattaya. The best papaya salad I have had outside of Thailand. Do not get a window seat looking over river in winter, very draughty

Been here several times and always found it to be a very good experience. The restaurant itself is nice looking, staff friendly and polite. Food wise it's very much a traditional Thai menu - all food I've eaten here is to a very high standard, big flavours as you would expect! Price wise not to bad either, they do a lunch special (starter, main and rice) for around £10 which is very good value. The only thing that lets is down in my opinion is the location - it's on the river facing side of The Gates shopping centre. The Gates and the North Road Area of Durham are fairly run down and not the nicest places to spend an evening, they do have a river view from the ample windows but it overlooks a massive sewerage pipe. Don't let that put you off though you come for the food not the view!

Went Sat. Lovely river view table. We opted for Banquet A seeing as it had meals we were wanting to try. The food was really tasty and well presented. Only small quibble was we ordered a bottle of champagne for £32.00 and when requested another bottle they did not have one so could either order Cava or pay extra £15.00 for a bottle they did have. Opted for the Cava.
Would def recommend and will go back.

The food was excellent. Its fresh authentic and the service is friendly. Dont be put off if you are entering from the rear and the stairs are a bit old and mouldy. Inside the restaurant, it is clean and well run. If you are in Durham and want authentic Thai food, this is the place to visit. Do try the Red Thai Prawn Curry and the Jungle Curry. Well worth it.
