I like to do these just as I am getting into bed whilst I am actually hotel and so far so good. Nice welcome. Very clean room 156 overlooks the river - pretty at night. room service quick within 30 mins that they said , more like 20 mins. Large room and comfy bed only downside is it's twin joined together and even though I am just a one in the bed the join always is a bit uncomfortable. All good but the price at £109 for b and b is about £20 too steep I think . At £89 this would have been fab and 5 stars on all counts x

Stewed coffee, they tried to charge me for things ( ie Breakfast ) that I did not have, the lemon chicken thing for the evening meal was too "lemony" tasted artificial. Nice view of the river from my room though. Bottom line... Very average !

As one might expect perfectly acceptable and clean/well kept. The registration system was having some probelms when I arrived but the staff dealt with that well. It has a good car-park (£6.50 over-night) and the breakfast buffet was good and well stocked. However, of course, once in the hotel you could have been anywhere, and while the rooms were generously sized, I found the style (modern hotel international bland) just a little depressing. Good for one night on a business trip, but if you were having a weekend away you might want something that siad 'Durham' more than this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the river have a great view - rooms at the back would look over the car park

Lovely Raddisson Hotel with all the features you'd expect: rooms clean and spacious, lovely bright and clean bathrooms, nice bar and restaurant area too.

Just a short hop over the bridge (right outside the hotel) to the city centre with restaurants and bars less than 10min walk with much greater choice of food than the hotel and better value for money.

Only little negatives - a few light bulbs blown in the room, bar service a bit slow even when empty.

Overall, well worth the money

Booked a last minute overnight stay here to visit the Lumiere festival. This hotel is in a great location near to shops and restaurants. On arrival the reception staff made us very welcome, the room overlooked the river and was excellent clean and very comfortable. We didnt eat in the hotel but would probably try next time. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Durham.

We fould this hotel to be spotlessly clean with a fantastic leisure centre and excellent breakfasts (help yourself buffet but with a brilliant choice). All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river. You can also see the Castle & the Cathedral. Much nicer than look...

Radisson Hotels are pretty good in my book, usually boasting excellent locations, great accommodation and food. The Radisson Blu in Durham is no different, except I am afraid say for the food.

Having paid for just room only, my friend and I decided to add breakfast on the first morning of our weekend stay. At £15 per head we were expecting something special. What we got was very average. Most of what was on offer was cold with sausages of dubious quality and under-cooked bacon. Is there anything worse? We also had to ask for coffee.

That evening we decided to give dinner a try in the hotel's own Filini restaurant. Whether it was becuase the hotel appeared to be busy or the staff inexperienced, the service was slow and we had to ask for our complete order which when it arrived was missing a selection of sider orders. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but with lukewarm food yet again, we were disappointed. My suggestion would be to enjoy the hotel's accommodation but eat out.
