“overpriced with petty extras”

Difficult to locate with no immediate parking and surrounded with double red lines. No disabled friendly options. Smelly bathroom. Too noisy and too hot. Catering too small. Could not seat four adults a baby and boy of nine at a table. Expensive for quality.

Another Fab stay at the Premier Inn durham. Great location for everything...Shops/Bars/Food..perfect for any reason to shop or eat!.
A lovely warm reception as always from the staff and the room was lovely, clean and tidy.
Very near by is the slug and lettuce/Ebony's, LLoyds...
Would recommend "The Fat Budda" ...the food there was fantastic and a great atmosphere.
Ebony's did a lovely Salad but having spied someone else's order for Ploughmans I should of gone for that. Cheese(s) looked yummy!.
Opted (for a change) to miss out on the Premier Breakfast and had breakfast At ebony's. Only crumpets but nicely done. The cakes ordered by customers were to die for !!

Stopped over on monday 29th july on a dinner bed and breakfast rate, first impression good, clean and modern and a really pleasant welcome at reception. Checked in and up to my room which was modern, very clean, good quality comfortable bed and a smart and fresh ensuite, no complaints here.Had the evening meal and have to say it was better than I expected.Afair choice of starters and mains to pick from, Iwent for pate and a sirloin then an apple crumble to follow, all ok, desserts the weakest link though. Once again all staff without exception were really pleasant and polite. After a walk round Durham and a drink or two the bed was most welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a really extensive choice of hot and cold options and choices of drinks, pretty good quality to boot. Once again the staff were unerringly polite and helpful, so nice to find these days. To sum up a good quality modern hotel in a central location, only slight issue is pay car parking (the hotel have a £7.50 daily deal). Would come again.

After a brief hiatus over our booking this hotel proved to be excellently placed for visiting the wonderful city of Durham. Unwittingly we had arrived at the start of the Durham Miners Gala but despite being extremely busy the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet and up to the usual excellent standard of Premier Inns. Be warned that if you have any disability, access to the town is up some steep steps but after our first excursion we discovered that there is a lift about 100 yards to the left of the entrance which serves a car park but which also means that you can avoid the steps and be in the centre of the town with very little effort. Although busy the service in the restaurant was fast and the quality of the food good.

Room Tip: To avoid the steep steps up to the town use the car park lift which is 100 yards to the left of the...

Premier Inn delivers what it says. Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms clean, good size and really comfortable bed. We paid £8.25 for breakfast, lots of choice, plenty to fill up on. There is currently building work outside the hotel from 8am. We took advantage of £7.70 parking rate (for 24 hrs) in multi storey behind hotel. Wi-fi £3 for 24hrs, but only for one device. Two small gripes: cooked breakfast is quite bland e.g tasteless scrambled egg. Also, I got a room change as my room's (404) air conditioning wasn't working, but it wasn't any better. My friend's room was considerably cooler. However, room rates are good, especially for quiet nights e.g. Sundays and I would use the hotel again if basing myself in Durham

Hotel is situated in the centre between a multi-storey car park and a riverside building site. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are to the usual Premier standard in content and cleanliness. In-house bar and small restaurant. Breakfast good being part buffet and part waitress service. Ground floor rooms have views of either the car park wall or building site hoardings, better to go for the higher floor rooms (staff very helpful in this respect). Car parking is £7.70/day in the adjacent multi-storey after £1.30 hotel discount. Thirty minutes free wi-fi in room but next to useless as so slow.

Room Tip: For better views go for third or fourth floor.
