Description: You are closer than you think to wonderful home cooked food, great ales and fantastic company. Justin and Julia look forward to welcoming you to the friendliest of village free houses in rural Goodleigh, North Devon. We specialise in high quality home cooked pub fare, with traditional British favourites offered alongside exotic dishes from further afield. Relax in charming surroundings whilst sampling well kept ales that have had us listed in the Good Beer Guide for 3 years running. If you like trying something different our menu board is always changing to incorporate seasonal local meats, fish and vegetables. We can accommodate all needs, from a romantic table for two, family parties, or just about anything you had in mind.

We visited the 'New Inn' recently whilst on a family holiday to Devon. There was 7 adults and 4 children . To say our every need was catered for is putting it midly. We felt were treated from the onset like special guests. The atmosphere in the pub was warm and relaxed just what us 'Townies' had hoped for. Nothing was too much trouble, in fact we could virtually have ordered what we wanted (within reason of course) and the home cooked food was first class. Jamie Oliver eat your heart out !!
Thank you so much for making our last evening so special. 10/10 rating

Certainly the food was good quality pub food, and good value too. What was exceptional was how friendly and helpful the staff were. Taking young children out can sometimes be hard work, but they couldn't do enough to help. Add in the good beer, and we were sorry not to have the time to relax into one of the comfortable looking chairs for the afternoon. Great, great, great.

We have visited the New Inn on many occasions whilst visiting our good friends in Goodleigh, the friendly welcome we receive is second to none, the food is suburb and the atmosphere is wonderful. Whenever you visit the New Inn whether it be a week night, weekend or one of Justin and Julia's special 'Theme Nights' you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend that you pay a visit, to miss out on the experience whilst you are in the area would be a great pity.

Four of us had the most wonderful meal a couple of weeks ago. Greeted very warmly by Justin the Landlord and Julia Chef/Landlady came out and explained the menu which had a variety of lovely choices, hard to pick, as they all sounded so good. The food was out of this world, "restaurant food in a local pub". Big bowl of fresh vegetables, new potatoes and fab chips. We just about had room for puddings which again were amazing. You need to book as there are a limited number of tables, prices are very reasonable. At the end of the evening we had drinks at the bar where the conversation flowed with much laughter. A thoroughly fantastic evening.
