Premier Inn offers some great deals - we stayed 2 nights for £38 and had a clean & comfortable family room that would put far more expensive hotels to shame. The accommodation looks like it has been recently refurbished. A great location to explore North Devon.

I need to be clear here. I have stayed in premier inns before, they have provided good value for the money. This one seemed little different, room clean, quiet, staff helpful. The big disappointment was breakfast. They were obviously understaffed, a large queue waited for attention, tables unable to be cleared. The biggest disappointment was that I had to wait an hour before being served breakfast. Morning times are not the best time to make people disappointed, keep them hungry and waiting. There seemed to be an inabiltiy to turn off very cold air con and after several failed attempts we just moved to another table. Now the staff working were obviously stretched, were always polite, and incredibly hard working, I cannot fault that. The breakfast when it came was well cooked and tasted lovely. However next morning we went out for breakfast instead of possibly going through that again. By the way - dinner the night before was absolutley fine!

Room Tip: they operate quiet night policy so all is good.

Stayed here for 2 nights on the 2nd and 3rd of November with the other half and friends.

The room was clean, comfy and for the price very nice indeed. It had extra pillows, tea/coffee etc and a mahoosive flat screen tv on the wall.

The hotel is a short taxi ride away from the town centre and is in a good position near to the main road back to the M5.

The staff at the front desk were also polite and helpful :)

The restaurant/bar was very nice and I thought quite well priced for the area. The only downside to the whole setup is how long it can take for food to arrive.

When we ate there in the evening it took a fair while to come out, also in the morning at breakfast it took an age for what was in essence a fry up!

Apart from that, a good place to stay and one which I would reccomend :)

Stayed for 1 night in a family room with my wife and daughter. The standard of the room was excellent, really modern and very clean. We ate in the restaurant in the evening which was great and the waiting staff were excellent, especially Jake, as was the standard of the food. The breakfast was also excellent, a help yourself buffet and a cooked to order breakfast. All the staff were really helpfull and friendly and I highly recommend this premier inn and will be staying again.

Premier Inn is one of the few hotels that appears to act apon customer reviews/requests. The hotel was fine with all the usual refinements and comfort expected for a Premiere Inn.

The restaurant is good and the breakfast is great, although the hot food is waiter served rather than self service. However, on times the service can be very slow. From what I could see tonight, there just wasn't enough staff on to cater for the number of tables in use. (Not all the tables were used. In fact the restaurant to me didn't seem that busy). The staff blamed the delay on the large table around the corner, but I think that was only partly the problem. Four of the tables on our area complained about service.

Overall that staff in Table Table were very friendly and tonight wouldn't put me off visiting this hotel again.

I spent three nights here in October. A fairly standard Premier Inn, the room was clean and comfortable and was thoroughly cleaned every day. Although facing the road I did not hear noise from it.
The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful.
Sadly, the breakfast offering which I had booked with the room was less than satisfactory especially on the first (Sunday) morning, I had to wait a long time to be seated, the cooked food was excessively greasy and looked as if most of the components had sat under heat lamps for a long time. Over an hour hour before the end of service there were no croissants or brown bread left. On the second day, the scrambled eggs were cold when they arrived at the table.
My advice would be to leave out the breakfast and cross the road to the Tesco restaurant which at least is much cheaper.

Were called by the hotel today at 4.40 pm to be told our CONFIRMED reservation for that evening was no longer valid as a result of overbooking. The manager was totally ineffectual, and could not explain why the mistake had taken place. We were to be attending a wedding locally tomorrow, and this has completely ruined our plans. No offer to pay for alternative accommodation. No sense that the manager had any regrets about what had happened. This shows the Premier Inn chain in a stark light- ignore the cosy TV ads. The reality is cheap and nasty.
