Bulworthy Forest Lodges

We have just returned from a weeks stay, the lodge was extremely well equipped with appliances etc, and was very warm. Would recommend this location if you want peace and quiet

The lodge was quite large and comfortable, the only thing I would recommend is that you take your own bath towels as the ones supplied were not very large..

Stayed here last year, the location was absolutely beautiful! The lodge was clean warm and very well kitted out. We played archery at a local place not far down the road and there are loads of lovely Country pubs. Really don't have anything bad to say about it, it was perfect!

We stayed at bulworthy forest lodge in November 2012, such a peaceful and relaxing place, beautiful suroundings and fantastic amenities within the lodge. The lodge itself was spacious and had everything you could need for a weeks stay! My Husband and his friend spent most days fishing on the lake whilst my friend and I relaxed, watched tv and enjoyed the quite suroundings, something we dont do at home!!! The cleanliness of the lodge upon arrival was fantastic. I was worried about the water pressure but soon found out I had nothing to worry about as the shower was powerful and warm! There is not anything on site to our knowledge so we did our shopping at a local supermarket and cooked in our lodge! This did not affect our stay at all. We went out most days to the local towns and spent our evenings playing board games, cards and watching scary films! :) We even had a little friend, the forest cat! It was like being at home! We loved it and have booked up to go again this November! If your looking for a nice peaceful, relaxing break away from the stresses of life this is the place to visit! Top marks all round!!

Room Tip: They are all beautiful, if you want a hot tub make sure you book a lodge that has one!!

I recently stayed at the Bulworthy Forest Lodges with mt partner, my brother, his partner and their 1 and a half y/o daughter. It was originally just my brothers holiday but he invited us up to spend a few days with them! We stayed in Bluebell Lodge with is just fantastic. Its more private than most of the lodges so that was nice and it was not situated overlooking the water, as my brother did not want that with his young daughter. Its a very large wooden lodge, you walk in to the open plan dining room / kitchen area which was a great space, there was a telly in the dining room, The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, fridge freezer, washer, dryer, dishwasher, iron, ironing board.. everything!! the sitting room was large with 2 arm chairs and a 3 seater, not the most fabulous looking thing but did the job and was quite comfy! There was also a telly in there with a range of channels. the main bathroom had a bath with an electric shower overhead. there were 2 double bedrooms, very comfy beds, with wardrobes, hangers, drawers etc. one double room had an en-suite with a shower, toilet and sink. Then there was also a good sized twin room with 2 single beds and wardrobes etc. Outside there was a hot tub, it was amazing! you could probably fix a max of 6 people in it, it was lovely and hot, very clean. the owners called in every morning to put chlorine in it to clean it out! it was ready any time at your disposal, no waiting for it to heat up etc. Honestly this trip could not have been better? Shops were a good 10 min drive away so def not suitable if you do not drive. but completely worth it if you do! the woodlands the lodges are set in are just so pretty, plenty of lakes for fishing, nothing overboard just nice slow paced fishing. We had great weather while we were there so there were a good few people out fishing. there are also public walks through the forest that you can take, but bring your walking boots or trainers, not ideal in flip-flops! Over all an amazing stay, definitely worth the price esp if you have more than 2 people staying. will definitely return again without a doubt, great peaceful holiday. Plenty to do in the surrounding town or great for just chilling out in the hot tub all day!

Room Tip: If you have very young kids, i would suggest staying away from the water, although all of the lodges...

Stayed here with 4 children ages 16-6 and we all loved it. Cabins clean fresh had everything you need , and it's immaculate. Loved peace and quiet loved the fishing lakes. Hot tub was gorgeous hot clean and check twice a day by owner. My daughter cut her knee and we didn't have first aid kit so rang owner he came straight down with plasters, bandages, sterile wipes the lot. He said if it required medical attention he would drive us to local hospital. It's was just a bandage job luckily. We lived feeding birds squirrels and deers and it was so quiet we thought we were only ones here. You are not overlooked and cabins are spaced out just right. You will need to drive a few miles to get to shops pubs garage etc but it's nice drive. The Forest itself is beautiful and if that's what you want come here. Owners have got this just right I am coming back in oct 2013

We have just returned from a delightful week spent in Bulworthy Forest Lodges. We stayed in the Chestnut Lodge, which is well equipped with a full range of kitchen and domestic appliances. Just outside the cabin there is its built-in barbeque, picnic table and a whirlpool hot tub, which is under the cover of its own timber ‘hut’.
The tranquil wooded site is delightful with a variety of trees and abundant colourful rhododendron bushes. A stream feeds a number of small lakes in the site, which are stocked with fish for visiting anglers. During our stay we saw many bird species, squirrels, rabbits and a fox came by the cabin. There are a number of walks around the woods and also public footpaths in the locality.
Anyone staying at the cabins would need their own motorised transport as the site is somewhat isolated and food etc would have to be brought-in as there isn’t an onsite shop.
If you would enjoy a quiet break in beautiful surroundings we would recommend this site to you.

Room Tip: The cabins are on a series of undulating driveways overlooking a series of fishing lakes. Some of th...

My fiancée and I stayed in Oakapple. We we very impressed with the cleanliness of the lodge when we first arrived. The hot tub was brilliant and we used it many times over the 3 days. The setting is fantastic and peaceful, if you want a quiet secluded getaway then I would highly recommend Bulworthy Forest. The lodges are neatly presented and have all of the white goods you could want from a self catering holiday. We're already thinking of planning our next trip.
