I had a one night stay in The Old Vicarage on a work trip to Devon. Slightly out of the centre of Barnstaple (a pleasant 5 minute walk to the shops/pubs etc.) but easy to find and nice and quiet. The room was huge as was the en suite, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was tasty and filling.I also got a slice of homemade cake when I arrived! Nice touch! I don't know the area too well and needed some help working out bus routes and Sandi and Bryan couldn't have been more helpful. If I have to stay in the area again I'll be sure to try and book here.

We had one night staying at The Old Vicarage in February this year and had a lovely room, recently refurbished right at the top of the house. We were welcomed by a friendly face and homemade cake. It was a cold day but our rooms were warm, bed very comfortable and lovely hot wet shower. Thanks for your hospitality, we hope to be back soon!

Room Tip: We stayed in the top room, think it was room number 6 (has a double and twin beds) and was large and...

I stayed at the Old Vicarage B&B in Jan 2013 as I had to attend a family funeral in Barnstaple at short notice. I cannot praise this B&B highly enough - my room was spacious, warm and comfortable, an excellent breakfast, and the hosts, Sandi and Brian couldn't do enough to help; they were kindness personified! I would definitely choose to stay here again.

This was our second visit to the Old Vicarage, a charming family run B&B. Sandi & Bryan are wonderful hosts - genuinely warm and friendly. We have found it to be a haven for a relaxing break in any season. It offers luxurious accommodation, a lovely, quiet location and all a 5 minute stroll from the town centre. Our room was very spacious - with lots of thoughtful attention to detail. The excellent breakfasts set us up at the start of each day and we were able to enjoy a walk along the beautiful Devon coastline following the host's recommendation. We look forward to visiting again in the summer!

We were fortunate to spend to have a 3 night break here. As a family of four we found the room to far exceed our expectations, room 6 would be better describes as a suite rather than a family room, having 2 separate bedrooms, a toilet and a shower. Both bedrooms had a tv as well as a seating area, which gave everyone enough space to enjoy the evenings in our room and allowing the children to go to sleep before ourselves.

The Old vicarage sits within easy walking distance from the town centre, which allowed for easy access to restaurants, theatre and shops, there are plenty of fantastic walks a short drive away and also the beautiful coastline of North Devon.

The hosts were able to help with suggestions of where to go and what to do and the standard of food was exceptional.

We hope to return soon!

Room Tip: By the way there is no swimming pool but can't unrate it!

I never book anywhere now without consulting Tripadvisor and again it's paid off. We had been looking at hotel rooms for £100+ per night and then found The Old Vicarage at a much more reasonable cost. The rooms were good, beds were comfortable, we were within easy walking distance of the Queens Theatre (the reason for our visit) and had a lovely time. Home made cake and freshly prepared breakfasts are another good reason for staying here rather than at one of the hotels in town. Many thanks.

Room Tip: The family room on the top floor is to be upgraded this winter.

Have just returned from a one night stay and cannot rate it highly enough. I mentioned when booking that it was our anniversary and they kindly rearranged things so that we could have the most romantic room - a beautiful and very large room overlooking the garden. Very comfortable bed, lovely breakfast, charming house. One of those places that has something extra special about it - possibly the lovely couple that run it who make you feel that they really care.
