Owner description: Winner of the Legacy award ,Best Family Business 2017, Gold award for best attraction in the South-west 2012, Exmoor Zoo has become an ideal family day out. The zoo has established a good rapport with the North Devon community and offers a very hand on experience for all its visitors.Activities run throughout the day (every half hour in summer), you get to meet a bird eating spider, hold a snake, feed wallabies (under supervision), meet some of the zoos friendly furry animals and of course go to all the talks and feeding sessions (if you can)!Home to the “Exmoor Beast” (a pair of black leopards), Puma, Cheetah, Maned wolves, monkeys and lots of other unusual animals like Tamandua, Fishing cats, Tapir, Singing dogs and Binturong to just name a few! The zoo is a living place with changes all the time; no visit is ever quite the same.Useful information:• Disabled access (wheelchair provision and scooter hire)• Activities through out the day• Cafeteria• Children’s playground• Undercover picnic areas• Zoo trail.

“Brilliant day out”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

We have just spent all day here and still did not do everything. What a great people and animal friendly place. The meer cats were so funny. So much of this site is under cover too which is not advertised enough. Great for our wet summers. We really enjoyed the animal encounters with keepers who obviously cared about these animals and knew so much.

“Fantastic, small zoo.”

Not a big fancy zoo with all the bells and whistles. Just a very nice day trip with the kids. Can get up close to the animals. Very pretty set-up.

“Best day out”
Reviewed September 21, 2012 via mobile

I loved my trip to Exmoor Zoo I got to hold a snake and a guinea pig and got to stroke a meerkat ! I particularly enjoyed the talks given by the keepers who were all lovely and informative. The entrance fee of £10 was well worth the money I am from London and am looking forward to going back next year.

“Fab day out highly recommend.”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

Set out early for your trip to this Zoo loads to see and do for all the family. We took our 11 month old son along and he loved it loads of animals of all shapes and sizes. The Zoo layout lent its self we'll to prams and the animal pens were accessible to the eye of most. The price was also great value under 20 quid for 2 adults. Staff were helpful and well informed and the talks, feeding of the animals were very interesting. Our son really enjoyed the small animal handling session were staff were very patient and very informative about the various types of animals they had with them. Allow a full day for this great attraction
