Booked this hotel on the spur of the minute, on Thursday for a Saturday stay. Easy booking and finding the hotel. Was met by the receptionist who was very knowledgeable and friendly. Hotel was quite didn't hear any noise during the night either inside or outside the hotel. Well situated for all Barrow shopping and sightseeing. Overall a very pleasant experience.

We stayed at the travelodge on Bank Holiday Monday for a reasonable price, arriving at lunchtime .We were told the room was not ready...fair enough we were early, so went for a browse round the lake that the receptionist had recommended to us . Wouldn't bother litter strewn mess.Arriving in our family room, first impressions good until my child found wotsits under the bed hardly a good standard.Noise at night and early in morning meant no sleep at all.And bed was like a concrete slab with pillows to match.Breakfast over priced go to Asda.cheaper and better value for money. Would book premier Inn next time looked a much better venue.

We hope our guests have a comfortable stay with us so it is really regrettable to learn that you were dissatisfied with the cleanliness of your room doopsy. We expect our staff to follow a strict routine in the cleaning of our rooms and we would expect them to be cleaned to our high standards. In order to prevent any disruptions to our customers’ stay, we also require a night staff member to patrol the hotel at night to ensure that a respectable level of noise from our other guests is maintained. We also regularly check the mattresses and, if one is not found to be in a suitable condition then it should be replaced. We are sorry for the experience you had with us and would like to investigate the concerns that you have raised. Please could you visit our website and select the Contact Us button to tell us more and when doing so please indicate you have left a TripAdvisor review.

Stayed here for 3 nights last week, great location for exploring the lakes, in a great place for local amenities, 24 hour Asda directly opposite the hotel, with lots of restaurants within a 2-3 minute drive towards the centre of Barrow.

We stayed here primarily to visit South Lakes Zoo which was only a 10 minute drive away, Wndermere and Coniston were within 30 minutes drive so suited us perfectly.

Great hotel will definitely stay again

This Travelodge has been recently refurbished so it's clean and in good condition. You know what you're getting with these places, good value with no frills. This one has loads of parking, pleasant staff, modern rooms. It's only about ten minute walk into central Barrow. We only stayed one night which seemed pretty busy but it was quiet and comfortable. I've stayed in other places in Barrow which always seemed to have a slight problem, not enough parking or too warm, and were more expensive. I'll definitely be returning.

Arrived late to be given a room facing the car park on the ground floor. Kept awake by loud footsteps from room above. Finally slept around 2am to be woken again at dawn to loud banging from upstairs and cars being started outside room. Shower did not work so had to leave tired and unclean - no toiletries in room either. Reception looked annoyed I had complained and showed little sympathy. Not a pleasant stay.

Often stay at the Barrow in Furness Travelodge for work. Always a warm welcome in reception, friendly and helpful service and a good nights sleep. Plenty of parking and easy to find. Happy to recommend this to anyone.

The Barrow Travelodge is located a few minutes drive from the town centre and offers excellent value for money (family room for 2 nights for £58 in our case). The room was spotless, looked brand new, had adequate space and had good quality beds. There was little noise.
The potential downside is that the hotel is not attached to a restaurant and offers no cooked breakfast. There is a Dominos next door. We had our breakfast at the JD Weatherspoons pub in Barrow, just a short drive away, and if am sure there are other breakfast offerings in Barrow.
There is ample free parking at the hotel.
Barrow is reasonably placed to visit the Southern Lakes, and there are several attractions around Barrow itself. We visited the Dock Museum and Walney Island southern nature reserve.
