Tried to get in for lunch on previous visit but it was packed to the rafters. This time we made it.
Family friendly, excellent value, lots of choice on menu. Good selection of real ales. Bar staff friendly and welcoming. Foos service was efficient. Very good portion size and quality.

Thank GarthGraham

This restaurant was recommended to us, but we were disappointed with our meal here. The restaurant had been closed the night before (it should have been open). We ordered fish and chips and a curry.
The fish batter was good, the chips soggy and cool. The curry was virtually tasteless. The Restaurant looked tired and was very noisy. The staff were friendly and the service quick,

A busy pub in the centre of Bowness. We got a table without problem and just ordered main course thankfully. The portions were very generous and the food was good pub grub. Beers were slightly on the expensive side but that seemed the same in the rest of Bowness

My partner and I spent four days in Bowness on Windermere as we were touring on our motorbikes. We came to The Albert twice, once for a quick drink after a lovely chinese before heading back to the hotel. The atmosphere was superb, it was a Friday evening, the staff were great and a great selection of drinks. My partner had the smooth cool bitter which was really good. I'm not a bitter drinker but ended up trying that and a 'Dizzy blonde'. We stayed until around 11pm much longer than a quick one. We then came back on the Saturday night for pudding after a horrible meal at The Spinnery. I had the cheesecake and my partner had the fudge cake. Gorgeous puddings!! But the atmosphere wasn't as good as the previous night as a hen party came in. Quite alot of people who were eating commented on this. Possibly eating upstairs would have been nicer, to separate people who are eating with those who purely want to get drunk.
We didn't have a main meal here, but I did see quite a few the night before who had fish and wow it was the biggest fish I'd ever seen. Great value for money. All in all a great place!!
