It was a cold afternoon when we dropped in to Albert's, even though it was full we soon found a table, and although it had just been vacated, it was soon cleared and wiped clean, something I'm fussy about, I hate sticky tables! We selected off the specials board, I had a bacon chop with black pudding and mustard mash, while the ReichsFuhrer went for the half, pork baguette with a cup of soup, a combination that works, other places should take it up. With two drinks (proper beer, Robinson's) the bill came to about £17. The only down side was the music that most pubs feel they must play, we find it wearisome, but they know their business better than us.

Just read the other reviews of this restaurant/pub !!
The food is freshly cooked, huge portions and nothing like the mast produced food from the so called " gastro pubs". Great value too

If you are in the area, try this place, you won't regret it :)

We have been here before and had lovely food so were happy to return, we were not disappointed. My partner hadn't tried mussels before so we decided to have them in cream and white wine - delicious is all I can say, the sauce was amazing. The service was great and all of the food was lovely, will defo be coming back again next time we're up in the lakes.

Called in during a rainstorm on New Year's Day.
Busy but seats available. Plenty of different beers to try.
Friendly staff as well

A brilliant night in the Albert for new year celebrations. We saw New Years in here. The dance floor was full. Plenty of seats whilst enough room to dance. Great staff, great atmosphere! We were told the food was good so returned on New Year's Day for a meal. Very impressed. Great food happy waitresses and my gosh they must have been knackered because it was non stop. Polite smiley and helpful nonetheless. The food was ordered, arriving about 25 mins later which we thought was good because it wasn't just microwaved. A very relaxing atmosphere. I had a burger chips n salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. Juicy burger crispy chips n proper salad not the bag stick on a plate rubbish! He had the roast lamb n it was beautiful. Plentiful and accompanied with veg and potatoes it was a delight! We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the choice of beverages and the nights entertainment previously! We will be back!
