No problems at all with the food, everything from a huge menu was reasonably priced, authentic and well executed, but what an operation this place is! The typical scenario we saw and experienced was as follows - get asked for your order after two minutes, recieve starters after 10 minutes, receive main courses five minutes after starters are whisked away, finish them, get bill, pay bill and be back on the streets of Bowness in well under an hour, with another set of punters whisked into the table you have vacated before you've shut the door.
It's wholly admirable in its way, and it served a purpose of feeding us decent Italian grub, but don't think you're settling in for a relaxed romantic evening. You ain't, they want that table back!

The restaurant is tucked away up a short alley, but the place is buzzing when you get there. Real Italian staff (such a great Maitre 'D !), great food and reasonable prices. We went on a Tuesday eveing and it was packed - so worth booking if you can. Really recommended

This wonderful Italian restaurant, set in a back street of a back street in the centre of Bowness, captures perfectly the taste and charm of Italy.
The place was obviously popular, since having walked in on the Saturday we were politely advised that they were full - fortunately for us we were only there to book for the following evening... and I'm glad we did.
The food was exemplary, and equally the service was outstanding. ALL the staff including the management could not do enough for us, and always spared a minute on passing to check we were OK and dote over our 5-year-old daughter. We really felt looked after, and though obviously incredibly busy, we never felt rushed.
The deco is beautifully rustic and you could really feel as though you're on the continent whilst in there. There is a lovely softly-lighted ambience to the place and it's a pleasant atmosphere in which to eat.
Prices - this was a birthday treat for me so the missus footed the bill, but both she and I both felt that the value for money was excellent, especially given the location in Bowness. As with any restaurant you can spend a range on wine - we went with a Chianti at what I consider to be a pretty modest £22 (per bottle) and it was the perfect complement to our Italian meal.
For me, Villa Positano would definitely be part of any future Lake District visit, even if it meant going out of our way. I would highly recommend the place and it's the kind of find you want to show off to friends, family, best clients, etc.

The food was excellent and staff very friendly. Although very busy we were not rushed and I was able to taste the wine and send it back if I didn't like it. I would definately recommend .

This restaurant was very busy when we visited, but the atmosphere and setting were both lovely.

The food was delicious and well presented.

The only downside was that the drinks were over expensive....
